Smart move. Replacing the isolator yourself may void the warranty, but if GM changes the SC, you'll retain the warranty which would now be for 10 years or 120,000 miles.

Just got my bulletin on my supercharger in the mail.
Already had an appointment for this Wed. to have the dealer order a new one anyway. Perfect timing.
Its sounds like loose marbles and just started to squeal on idle.

The dealer ordered my SC Three weeks ago. It finally came in so got the car towed to the dealer since the SC was locked up. The Sc locked up while driving down the autobahn. They started to work on it yesterday and then I got a call from them to You need an engine since there was a lot of metal in the intake. They said we called GM USA to make sure they can cover this under warranty. When they called me they said this will be covered. Bad news is another two-three weeks for the engine to gets shipped. Looks like the summer will be gone before I get her back on the road. Wish I would have know the engine was gone before I got it towed to the dealer. Because I would have got the Lamborghini door kit installed while waiting on the engine. Oh well all good things come to those that wait.

I too received my letter from GM today. It's not a recall notice per say, but stated some 2013 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles with the 6.2l V8 engine with a supercharger may not function as designed.

They went on to say that if you notice a rattle noise at idle this will lead to problems, even an engine seizure or no start condition. GM did state in bold text Do not take your vehicle to the your Chevrolet dealer as a result of this letter unless you believe that your vehicle has the condition described above. The good news that has been discussed in this thread is the if the rattling condition dues arise within this 10 or 120,000 warranty it will be repaired at no charge.

My car does not exhibit any rattling from the supercharger but when it does I will take in in immediately. They must be sending out letter to the 2012 ZL1 owners too.

They are. Got mine yesterday. Don't know if I should be concerned given that I don't drive the car much but don't like the idea that there could be an issue that maybe I'm not noticing.

I understand your concern. GM has given us this 10 year or 120,000 mile whichever comes first warranty, so we are covered. I took delivery of my car 10/9/12 and have 6200 miles so far and will just keep my ears open.
