U bet your bottom dollar it will be. If you haven't experienced a v8 car, now is the best time to get one. If your commute or car budget situation is a non-issue, then take advantage of the abundance of Camaro v8s that we have and pick up a nice looking example.

My 2010 Camaro V6 is an upgrade to me from a 2003 Monte Carlo SS at the moment due to finances at the time. But I did have a 1986 Monte Carlo with a 350 V8 Engine 400 Turbo Transmission, and true-dual exhaust in there. So been felt the difference in a V8 from a V6. So when I do drive a SS it want surprise me that much due to the fact I have had a V8. I will just look at it as another fun car to drive and mod!

Don't take this the wrong way but in no way would I compare that 86 monte carlo to an ss. I bet your v6 would blow that thing away. My first car was an 82 mustang 5.0 H.O. and that thing was 157hp and 240tq and has zero in common in terms of driving characteristics with a current pony car lol and would have been blown away by your v6.

Let me repost an earlier post I made...

To everyone else... We do not tolerate inter-model bashing... Helpful comments are appreciated, self obsessed comments are not... This is a family of Camaro owners and we appreciate all models.

I've cleaned this thread up for the benefit of the OP, and issued a few infractions. Any further bashing will lead to more infractions.

Nothing has changed... I made the comment and followed through with it...

If you feel the need to bash on any model or level of Camaro on this site... Please Note... We do not tolerate it...

Don't come in here stirring the pot hoping to get the thread deleted... You might find yourself the deleted one... your post, then maybe your privledges to visit and post on this site...

If you cannot afford the 2SS then the 2LT RS is the better car unless you plan to hit the drag strip weekly. You'd be giving up to many features for a second off your straight line quarter mile which doesn't equate to day to day comfort and enjoyability, if it were all about speed we'd all drive Toyota supra's lol styling quality and features be damned haha.

back in 2010, test drove an auto SS, wasn't impressed(low octane fuel, don't know). Felt my six more responsive. M6 SS if you like the control. But early models had their share of problems as well. Get new if you can afford it.

You may want to buy one of the Vitesse throttle controllers for your car and try it before trading. I have been reading a lot of good things about it and I have ordered one myself. Plus if you still want a V8 you can swap it over and even improve it. Cheap to test since it's only $179 plus shipping.

I had a Genesis Coupe V6, Raced many Camaro V6 and smoked them all pretty bad. Now having a SS 1LE I find that it was a huge upgrade in power.

I owned an 80's Monte Carlo V8 and it definitely wasn't a car you would compare with a new Camaro at all. That's a 200HP V8 in a 4000lb car vs a 426HP V8 in a 3900lb car. Even the V6 5th gen is quicker than a standard GBody Monte V8 or Monte Carlo SS. Especially since most G-Body Monte Carlo's had a 305 in them.

get the best Camaro you can afford.

for me it was the SS, no matter how much my 31 yr old son pleaded, I was not going to spend an extra 18K on the ZL1.

you say your difference is 5K -- ask yourself if that is a reasonable amount. If it is, go for it!

Hey.....I've been told my last post crossed the line.
If I hurt anybody's feeling's or offended anybody, I'm truly sorry and I apologize.
I'm not on here to offend or hurt anyone's feelings, but maybe I get carried away sometimes.
With all that said, consider this:
I have a buddy who has V6 Camaro. I've driven it and found it to be impressive.
I have a V8 Camaro and it's more impressive.
I have another buddy who has a ZL1 Camaro. I've driven it and found it to be even more impressive.
I've not driven a Z/28, but based on everything I've read, I'm sure it's even more impressive.
Buy which ever model that you feel you can afford to purchase and operate.
You really can't go wrong with any of them.

I agree! It all comes down to what it is being used for. Would I want a Z/28 as a DD? HECK NO! Gas would be outrageous lol me for instance. I do 300-500 miles every week it seems like. The V6 was the best choice for me. When my commuting is less I'll get a V8. OP, get what you are comfortable with and can afford. All of them are nice and all say CAMARO on the side...unless you remove that like I did lol

Personally never understood people that buy these high horsepower cars as daily drivers unless I literally lived 5 miles from work, even then I'm married with two kids and still wouldn't do it. Imo they are truly not practical for 95% of people as a dd. That's why I daily drive a honda accord and can do whatever I want to the camaro with no excuses of "well I don't wanna do that cause its my daily driver". Hell I don't daily my 1LE but still put 12k miles on it this year, if I drove it to work it would already have over 30k miles. If it was a weekend car V8 for sure, daily driver buy a honda and still get a V8. All depends on your preference. My buddy drives an auto V6 camaro gen4 and his wife drives a 2000 gt mustang 5sp. He could care less about a V8 and can't drive stick anyways lol.

This is what I wanted to do. I have a v6 and I've been wondering if I should go 2016 SS, 2015 1le or get a 13 zl1. Ive been looking at Z's and they go for around the same price as a 2015 1le goes fully loaded for around here The problem is I think insurance will royally rape me. :/
