So, which of that "good advice" is it?

Even a few respondents, driving Camaro's back and forth honking horns or whatnot could create the needed attention. I have gotten Seattle network news stations to respond to three different issues I raised that are far less intriguing to GP than GM refusing to honor their warranty on a technicality.

I agree, your dudeness, I (we) have a vested interest in the outcome here. All I have is a Range and a Z/28 CAI (hoping they bless their own!) but what this thread drives home is ANY mod is a potential "gotcha" if they want to play hardball.

That looks like a very small dealership. Have you contacted them? The Caddy, GMC, Buick dealership you ended up at probably has little experience with Camaro.

The dealership you actually bought the car from has a vested interest in keeping you happy and just might be able to grease the right palms and raise enough hell to get you squared. When a dealership that actually sells Camaros get's it through to the right people that a catch can has nothing to do with your issue, things could change.

It's purely a lack of understanding. Obviously this issue has been raised before which means there is precedent. If the GM legal team even get's a sniff of this, you know they KNOW they will be unable to prove the catch can was at fault...

Somehow, the message got buggered somewhere. I would give the dealership (Team Chevrolet) a call and talk to the service manager there. May not amount to much, but at this point you have nothing to loose,

I am guessing they drove it. SMDH.

Did you record the 10ths by any chance?

Different motor in the 6th Gen but who knows... definitely worth checking.

Now that would suck if you were on a run at the dragstrip when it happened.

As long as he didn't have a catch can he would be fine.

Wow after reading this I am hesitant to install a catch-can...

Coming from a guy who has never believed in catch-cans and an event like this to happen scares me. I just bought my first catch-can like 2 days ago and now this? Haha I do not feel so confident. Then again I F***ed my warranty when I got my car because I knew stealerships are not good for a damn thing except taking your money!

GM sells a catch can accessory for the 1LE (Part #12653073)

Why would GM themselves sell one if it's so catastrophic to the engine?
I call BS.

I work for a GM dealership in MI. Let me know if I can help

The 1LE Catch Can is factory supplied and arrives in box in the trunk when the car is delivered from the Factory. The OP should have received one with his 1LE. Instructions and owners manual explain to the dealer and/or car Owner how and when to hook it up.
OP has a much better version installed on the dirty side.

This is why I left my Camaro Stock. As long as the engine warranty is in effect, I will do nothing to the cars motor. As it being my DD as well, the risk is just not worth it. It shouldn't be denied for a catch can, but they can and your left handing the bag.

Yes, I think others would as well, especially since this is pure BS.

However I think it would be important for the OP to contact the dealership that he bought the car from. At some point, you'd thing SOMEONE would be able to cut through this crap and get the car fixed.

If not there are other options and a Mid-Texas rally next weekend at a big Chevrolet Dealership might be just what the Dr. ordered. Local media would eat it up.
