Nice work. Did you do a clear coat finish? I'm not sure if it is related, but I didn't do a clear coat because I didn't want it to shine at all, and now there is at least one small chip on 3 of my 4 bezels. Looks like I'll get a chance to do this mod all over again.

You can put on a matte clear coat. It doesn't have to be gloss...

Ah interesting. Wasn't even aware there was more than one type of "clear coat". I'm a paint n00b. I'll have to keep that in mind.

I didn't put on any clear coat. I'll leave it as is for now and if I notice any chips I'll smooth them out and spray again. Still have lots of paint in the can left for any touch ups I may need.

WOW great job people !!! I love it.

I will definetly do it soon. I am painting my engine cover at this time.

I prefer the flat black look, I have painted trim before, and the flat black looks great with a thin coat of Armoral.

Thanks much for all the tips.

If I had to loosen the bumper I would probably pass. But as stated-no need

Just got back from auto store. I bought the Adhesion promoter # CP199, but I got another black paint-flat black Trim paint # TP70. It was $1.00 more.

Got everything I need and planned on doing it last night.
Broke the first tab I tried to get out!
Managed to get the other 4 tabs out but could not get the bottom ones for the life of me.
I have small hands too.
I'm almost ready to just buy new ones and paint those.

Does anyone sell them already painted flat black? Hopefully under 60 bucks.
