Not sure about light tube.. you might want to ask in the other ABL thread? This one's all about wire. The entire mod took me 3 hours and I really took my time sanding, just watching a movie, sanding trim. It was easy. That ABL using the clear tube seems to be a nightmare.

Did you find rigid tubing? The first time I sanded mine, I only sanded the flat edge (top) and I didn't extend the sanding down on to the back. Duh, I had to take it back off the car and sand down the back edge, you know, like the instructions said Then it looked great. Love it. Wonder how it would look with RED wire.

Wow, I finally received my EL wire.
The package was stuck in customs since Oct 23rd (18 days).
Now I can get started on the mod.

Just got all my parts, I started on the drivers door to modify the panel to go all the way to the dash, I got an idea to swap the light to the top and let it go towards the back, instead of back towards the front. I haven't seen anyone else talk about doing this, hope it looks good with the dash complete. I like the looks of it so far?

It's actually the easiest of the light mods I've seen. The sanding takes the longest but it's really not hard, just sit and sand, no big deal. The dis-assembly and assembly take 10 minutes.

ZEUSS ABL with EL Wire

Well guys after about 2 hours of sanding last night and about 2 today soldering and installing the EL wire.................It's complete! I think I could have sanded a bit more because the thickness doesn't look the same as the doors but I think it looks good that way and it shouldn't be much of a distraction while driving.

I must say it looks factory and that's how it should have came. The color matches perfectly and dims with the doors and cluster.

I must say I am very please with how it turned out.

Sorry if the pictures are bury.

The only distraction I see as that you stare at it constantly because it looks cool. ha ha. I didn't get to work on mine tonight, but I will take some pics of the passenger side door before I modify it. hopefully tomorrow.

You will need to have the plastic trim pieces in order to get the ABL to work.
The light will not go through the material inserts. There will be kits available soon .... http://www.gm.oeaccessories.com/newm...PL2VUN61AdU%3d

I'm not even sure if the 1SS, or the 1LT have the right connectors Maybe you can check to see if the plug is there on the drivers side ( above the fuse box ). if it's there, check to see if there's power when the lights are on. Let us know

Well, it seems either I did something wrong or one of the parts doesn't work.
I finished the drivers side dash piece last night and the EL light doesn't light up.
I tested the socket in the car and am getting power there.
I also pealed the shrink tube back off to see if I lost any connections and didn't.
I am using the 0-4 foot module for the dash.
I bought plenty of light wire, so maybe I'll try again with a new little piece.
I also bought a 4-8 foot module, so I can try that module with at least a 4 foot piece of light wire to see if I got a bad module.

By the way, the modules have a switch that says OFF-MU-FULL.
I assume MU is flashing and FULL is on all the time?

There is no polarity with these wires is there?
