Whitecrane, it sounds as if you really want a camaro SS. So why not just wait for one ?

Wait to see if anything opens up. Then pounce on it. Why get a car your really do not want ?

I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with your last few posts. If I had the money to spend on a new muscle car, it wouldn't be spent on the Challenger. Sure it's a nice car but it is HUGE and you're very limited to what you can do with it performance wise. I'm a big guy too but that doesn't mean I need to get a car that makes me look or feel small. It's all a matter of preference. I don't see the Challenger as some elite, limited production muscle car either. That's what Dodge wants them to be viewed as the world over but the number of people that would plunk down that kind of money for a big under powered car is fairly low. That might also play into why you don't see too many of them on the road.

Otherwise beautiful and fast car.

But more importantly, I have a hard time seeing any good deals on the Camaro, considering I'm looking at a fully loaded GT (402-a spec NO track pack) for only $28,000.

Do you guys think GM will do 0% financing or a cash incentive rebate on Camaro this spring?
We just bought a Mustang GT Premium (wife's car - see pic) through internet sales (fleet) at a local dealer. We got an EXTREMELY good deal (dealer sticker was $39,000 and change, fully loaded) and paid about $31,000. The internet price was under invoice plus we got another $2000 off ($1500 incentive, $500 military). Deals are out there if you do your homework. It is an awesome car but not everyone's cup of tea.

Personally, I agree with the others, you sound like you want a Camaro. You can get a deal on a Camaro (internet/fleet sales), but it will be much harder and probably nowhere near what you can on a Mustang. Take a deep breath, do some soul searching and find the car that SPEAKS TO YOU. Kinda like love at first sight. If you HAVE to settle because of price, that's one thing, find one you like. Otherwise, save your money, WAIT and find one you love.

Letting people on a car forum make decisions for you is a mistake - they can answer questions but if you buy for "popular" reasons instead of getting what you want, you will probably come to regret it. Go to a Mustang forum, they'll tell you buy Mustang - Challenger forum, buy a Challenger. My car "speaks" to me still, even after 7 months. When I saw it, got in it and drove it, I knew it was "the one." As you sound passionate about this purchase (albeit you keep mentioning deals and incentives), WAIT, LOOK and find YOUR car.

I'm gonna go sit in my Challenger now and play with the buttons, then I'm gonna install a new tune on the Mustang (the tuner just showed up!).

Well lets be honest here, that car came in with as much HP as my GT puts out. It basically just had a S/C added to it. The engine it was suppose to have was a no show.

The V6 is still a very nice car if you can not swing it.

Plenty of Challengers available in Orlando, FL V6's, R/T, and SRT-8's one dealership has 16 on the lot, another has 12 Compair that to the Camaro local dealerships if lucky have 1 in-stock.

The Wolf makes me smile everytime I accelerate onto the pike going home. It makes me smile when people pull up, and start looking at the side exhaust and rims, then give me a thumbs up, or tell me "dam..I never seen a Stang like yours" I smile when I go to the track and the anoucer goes.."Well here is a show mustang !" Then after my run, he goes, "Well I guess there is some go! with that show!"

Get a car that YOU want. Be it a FORD,GM, MOPAR, hell NIssan or even a HuYandai. Hell lets throw in Vdub to ! If it is what you truly want, then that is all what matters.

I'm not going down this road again, believe what the magazines tell you. Performance mods are only limited by your wallet. I can drop in a crate engine with a supercharger for 1000 hp - what's your point? I will tell you my car will match a stock SS and I don't have forced induction or nitrous. Bash away, I'm done with this debate, just trying to help the poster out.

It's amazing that they were going to use a 7.0L.... Because that 6.3 is just far too small

Hard to say. The Chally did very well in braking, and was not a slouch in the 1/4 with the engine it had. The Camaro had raw power, and was able to put it all to the ground. The SSS had Raw power, and could not get it to the ground. The Chally was just..well underpowered in this fight. It was like bringing a large knife to a gun fight.

So I would be interested to see what would have happen with the 7.0l installed.

I agree with you here. The OP really sounds like he wants a Camaro SS. If so, he should wait and get one when he can. Do not settle when it comes to a car you want. When I saw the 2005 Mustangs, I knew I wanted one. I could have likely gotten a V6 one right then and there. But I waited because I wanted a GT. And I'm still happy to this day with the GT I've had almost 3 years now. I know that feeling you get when you get "the one".
