I own a '68 camaro, metallic blue, there has to be a blue, namely with white stripes offered as well!!!!

I've had an Imperial Blue Metallic with White Stripes on my desktop for months (since colors were announced), that us until Thursday of last week. I was extremely disappointed that blue (ANY blue) was not available on the 2SS. I still don't get why GM decided to limit their top of the line to the colors they published. Their top of the line should have any combination of any color or option available on the line.

.....and don't give me a description of how car manufacturing lines work.

Since the IBM is not available, I had to go with the "Stongly Suggested" color scheme in the ordering workbook. I figured that since I can't get what I truely want on the first run, then at least I'll get a low production number. I know that I will regret the decision every time I pull up to a later model with the color scheme I want. Hell, I'm not even a fan of the IOM Accent package that I ordered.

I hope this thread shows the frustration of the community, and that they change their minds and offer IBM while I still have a chance to change my order.

I love the IBM. I would also love to hear the official reason why the buyer cannot at least special order a SS Camaro in [U]any[U] of the offered paint colors. Nothing I have read so far makes any real sense why. Do the SS Camaro's go down some sort of special 'SS paint production' line?
If they want something exclusive or special, make the SS available with a couple of extra unique colors only on the SS. Charge a bit extra if you feel you have to...let the buyer decide.

Of course, I still would like a complete checklist of every available option when special ordering a car. No option package's. If someone is a car nut enough to do that, they want the car the exact way they envision it. No paying for options you dont want or need.

But, all in all, I think GM has done a great job. Just needs flexibility.

Chevy, I love ya, but what were you thinking. No blue!!! come on. How many yellow SS's do you think you will sell. Imagine a dark summer night cruising...what color would you choose. You laid an egg on this one.PLEASE FIX IT.

Im getting silver metallic, but blue was my first choice. I cant wait for chevy to come out with blue in 2100 ish time frame. By then all cars will be 1 cylinders with gas prices around $100.00 a gallon.

I too was hoping for the darker blue with white stripes. I've always loved that combination and now it would be even sweeter since my son's 2nd gen Z28 is the same color combo. But I am waiting for the vert as we've owned every gen of the Camaro line and my 4th is my first vert and can't live without it. Guess it is a chick thing but I love hearing the purr of the engine as I smoke some mustang . . .

It's rediculous that manufacturers limit color options. Why wouldn't one of the blue's be available on the SS. I'm very disapointed............

Actually, I could care less if that light blue color comes out. It's horrible. Now, the dark blue of the 4th gens (NBM) was one of the best ever.

But, what I want is RED RALLEY STRIPES!!! Give me them, GM!!! With white leather with red trim.
