If we had the V8, I'd probably be in jail for speeding -lol - 'cause I like to go, too!
(These roads in La. with their silly speed limits - ugh!)
I personally like the overweight hillbilly sheriff's that step out infront of your car with their hand up to pull you over. I just about ran one over last year. I had to stop laughing as I knew he would have taken me to jail. I was doing 65-70 and just about locked them up to not kill the idiot.

one more thought on the wife driving the car..............its far cheaper to replace the car than the wife.

Oh yes, don't let this decision ruin the relationship. Your wife is more important than a car. I just found it scary to think of anyone learning stick shift on a V8 Camaro.
But it's all up to YOU. And her.

Definitely, I taught my wife and one of my daughters, the other one doesn't want to. Oh, I taught them in a VW Beetle and a Porche 924. NOT my CAMARO, just tought I would make the part clear, hahaha.

I say yes! Although if she has difficulty I would find a beater car for her to practice on since the Camaro is not the most forgiving manual vehicle I have driven.

Maybe

My answer is maybe.

I encouraged my husband to buy a camaro. He thought he would just buy the base model V-6 to save $$$. But I encouraged him to buy the 1ss with the V-8.

He's a motor head mussle care kind of guy who fondly remembers the 1969 camaros, the classic fastback mustangs, etc. and the small block engines.

Well the new camaro fits the bill.

Bottom line, my hubbie has his new 2010 red camaro 1ss manual for 2 weeks. He wants me to drive it and I'm not inclined to drive it. It's his car (even though I help pay for it) and I hope he has it for a long time. It won't be his daily driver.

I like to see my hubbie happy happy happy. I'm perfectly happy sitting next to him. I have my own hobbies - horses and he has always support my hobby habit.

If he keeps insisting I may learn for the sake of it. It's been totally a long time since I drove a stick. The last time I drove a stick it was a 911 porsche that I owned, then I had a VW carma ghia. They were a total pain in the rear to shift and I really never liked driving those cars. I sold them for a 1965 289 Mustang that I restored myself (I used to be a motor head as well).

Yes. But forewarned is forearmed. She may like it more than you think! My wife loves it. Now every time I am away she wants it.

OK I am a wife- and I drive a 2ss/rs 6m- if this was my husband's car and i didn't know how to drive a stick shift- i'd think he was on crack to teach me on a new camaro.

My wife drove my 2SS/M6 for the first time tonight. The only time I got nervous was when she pulled into the garage... she almost hit the lawnmower and the wall.
