While I have no knowledge of the workings of the announcement delivery, I would say, "Watch this space."

If I was a betting man (which I am) I'd bet the ZL1 only comes with the manual.

Not that I am aware of. There are plenty of C5 members there though so news should make it's way here very quickly.

Let's hope not.. I have a buddy in his mid-60s that side he wanting to get one for his wife that currently has a Corvette and wants the power but not the shifting gears. I want to drive it

This is not directed at the quote above just in general but I have never understood why people that want a stick complain about making a model in automatic. Make both and give everyone what they want..

While I'm a manual only guy, I'm at the point where I would not care at all if they offer an auto tranny even though I originally voted no. The only way I would care is if by offering an auto tranny, GM would have to somehow compromise with the manual version (power, performance, price, etc). If there is no compromise and offering an auto in no way affects the manual version, I'm now all for it.

Of course there will be a compromise to building two (to both price and availability)! There's a compromise even with the SS, but at least it's diluted across a half million cars that will be sold in a half dozen years. Voting yes means you're willing to accept the higher prices and compromises to both transmissions.

Compromise to availability? You mean if there are auto trans optioned ZL1s you might not be able to find the exact car you like as easily? By that logic they should also only sell ZL1 in your favorite color.

I can't think of a reason why an automatic transmission being offered would in any way compromise the quality of the manual. The auto would cost more, but there would be people willing to pay for that luxury, so you're increasing market penetration.

I just love penetration.

BTW, My stimulation will be manual.

No price, performance numbers or HP numbers, but Al did say that the ZL1 is being engineered as the ultimate drag strip car as well as the ultimate track car... and that you will be seeing numbers in the next few months that will "astound" you.

Best regards,

Elie

Finally this has been officially announced!!! This was a decision that GM had made awhile ago but they had wanted to hold off after C5 Fest to make the announcement at the homcoming. Thank you to everyone who voted on this poll and thank you very very very much to GM for listening to your loyal customers!!!
