Go ahead and wait, won't bother me. Order now, won't bother me.

In other words, do what you want, why are you asking a forum made up of people that all have their own opinion, use your own judgement. Step up.

This makes no since being that the only ? that was in my post was "Is this normal". Of course there are some kind of bugs and things messed up with a new vehichles coming out, but to be more specific I just didnt know if ALL OF THE ISSUES LISTED IN MY ORIGINAL POST happen more and more each day like they have been reported to other cars

Who knows maybe I just noticed it because I follow this car more than any other... Which is why I made the post with actual intent of learning something, and further more THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF A FORUM IS TO VIEW and FIND OTHER OPINIONS

The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, the only serious issue I can think of right now is the oversized Onstar mirror while somewhat reduced in size may still be oversized for the Camaro depending on how you sit in the car.

Normal stuff, friend ordered a Honda Civic only to have the dealer prep put a big gash in the trunk. They had to send it to a body shop for repair before he took delivery. Color matching does look a bit off on some of the front bumpers and is a legit concern, I haven't seen one that looked bad in person yet so I'm withholding judgement on this for the moment. Sometimes photos make this type of thing look worse, sometimes they don't. A good dealer helps with many of these delivery issues but they are never completely avoided.

... you have to remember that this is a new car, and a really desirable one.
Things like markups over MSRP happened with the Challenger, with the Mustang in 2005, and continues with the GT500. That's simply supply and demand.

Regarding some of the more unscrupulous activities by a small number of dealers, there are, unfortunately, a few that behave that way. Chevrolet should.. and we've seen in some examples, has... done everything they can to assist the buyer. It's unfortunate that the actions of these few reflects badly on GM and dealer body at large. Let's remember that, for every bad apple, there are hundreds of CamaroScotty's out there (well... we know that there is only one CamaroScotty !! ... but you get my point).

As for the damage in transit, that happens all the time... I've always purchased new cars and special ordered them... three of them arrived with damage. Some of the damage we've seen recently is a bit extreme... witness the recent post by Carl241 (and this sort of situation warrants review of the transportation contractors by Chevrolet)... but, again, it's (unfortunately) not unusual.

Negative reviews? ... hey, everyone has an opinion. Ultimately, when you're buying a car, only one opinion matters... yours.

The "mismatched paint" and "cracked front bumper" things are simply panic du jours. Other issues are just the sort of thing that happens with any car... new or otherwise.
As you read any of the other car forums, I'm sure you see that they all have their issues. There were plenty of issues and TSBs on the S197 Mustang, but when I weighed the pros and cons, I still bought one in 2007... and was glad I did.

I'm looking forward to a 2010 Camaro, but am going to wait... not due to any concerns with the car, GM, the dealership, etc... but with "continued employment" (my company has had reductions in 9 of the last 12 months, so I'm hesitant to buy a big-ticket item like a car, right now).

So, I understand your concerns... if you decide to "pull the trigger", then I hope you have a trouble-free experience and enjoy every mile in your new car. If you wait, you still get to hang out here with a really great group of people and talk about a fabulous car !! Either way... enjoy !!

Hundreds of CamaroScotty's?? Do we live on the same planet?? If I had to come up with a number, I'd have to say that out of every thousand car salesman you may find someone as knowledgeable and helpful about the car with a passion for what he/she does. Eric Hall from Classic Chevrolet is another fine example of a human being who happens to be a car salesman as well. SO far every other one I've met and talked to have either been clueless or have tried to price gouge..

As for you, your concerns are noted and we all share them. However most of the time all these quality control issues are not known by the customer and transportation wrecks and dings are fixed without mentioning the accident to you.. We all pre-ordered and are getting info on what is going on so we know when the car is being delayed but we still aren't given a reason most of the time. AS for transportation mishaps, we know when the Camaro is in transit so if it arrives with a problem, it can't be fixed under our noses that easily.. Overall these issues are very normal and just be glad you are able to be on top of things during the build and delivery process.

1. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive. Sure, a couple reviewers have bashed it, but you get this. Some people would complain if you gave them a gold brick.
2. Customer service has been excellent, except for those gouging dealers who have been exposed and listed in a thread on this and other sites.
3. Almost ALL orders have been correct.
4. Cars damaged on delivery? We heard of a couple, certainly not overwhelming.
5. Mix (mis) matched paint? I've looked at quite a few in person, and in some detail, as well as many pics on this and other sites, and the paint work has been quite good. Different lighting angled cause metallic paints to appear to chage color, especially across angles and curves. That's the cool thing about metallic paint.

A simple search of this forum will show that the majority of the cars actually delivered to people have been correctly built and delivered with care. There is a review thread as well. Read that (It'll take quite awhile, as there's over 20 reviews)

Ask yourself a question:

Have you ever followed another car this closely through its initial development and delivery this closely? I'll bet not. The Camaro has a HUGE following, and it shows. That's why we even HAVE a 2010 Camaro. Without that following, we woudn't have this beautiful car.

It's far easier to remember the bad than the good, especially when most people rant on and on about the slightest thing, quite often blowing it out of proportion.

Ever do something right and get no recognition? Sure! Happens all the time. Make one mistake, and you'll get jumped on every time. Same thing.

A forum is such a SMALL cross section of owners. If you go by only what you read on ANY car forum as a gauge for the car, you will always be disappointed.

I hear what your saying, but you have to remember that this is first year car and very early on in production, there will always be bugs that have to be worked out. Also the reviews are done by people just like us, they have there opinion on what they like and don't like, so you get mixed opinions. Some people on here that have posted their opinions, some seemed confused about what they are comparing the car to...its not a family car, not a supercar, its a Muscle car. I have worked on and driven many Camaros, and i have to say this is the most comfortable, best quality Camaro GM has ever built. Go drive one and decide for yourself, If you don't like it buy something else, but i'm pretty sure if you drive it you will love it and want to buy.

Well I think a lot of this is paranoia and some just like people to feel bad for them.

1. Poor customer service, this is everywhere just not GM. I dont think its poor service I just dont think a lot of people have information right now on the car and thats what your hearing is poor service.

2. Damage delivery, well law of probability here, out of 1000 cars there will be somethat show up damaged, I think the dealer did the right thing to tell the customer and give them options on to either fix it or reorder, this isnt the dealers fault.

3. The mis matched paint was on the orange, and from what I have read isnt really a proven fact yet, its seems depends on who your talking too. And I have looked at it closely and alot of it depends on lightm angles, etc.

4. mix up orders, well shit happens.

Also with jobs Ive had in customer service and what I have seen as far as complaints go, this is what I have noticed. We will use the scenario of 100 complaints.

1. Out of 100, 50 are usually BS, people that just like to whine or people looking for a hand out
2. 40 are usually small things that are easily taken care of and most businesses will fix
3. 9 are big things, and most businesses try to make right and some wont
4. 1 there is that 1 % that for some reason or another just dont get fixed, and is a bad situation all around.

Im not in no way trying to right any wrongs that have happened to people but this is a new line not even 15k have been built you are going to have some screw ups, you will have this in any car line new or old. Now the thing is there really isnt blame on any one person either, because you figure the factory touches the car, the hauling company, then the dealer touches it, so you have a lot hands on something before you get it. Now if your paranoid then hold off, but I think these cases are small isolated and doesnt represent the whole picture.

Man, I feel for you. I am driving around with blinders on, focused on the back of the car in front of me, so that I don't see one driving around. It would kill me too... absolutely make me want to blow my head off.
