Since I just received my unit, I checked with Francis if the fitment problems have been sold for the unit I received.

He replied that fitment has been improved, but that it still does not fit as well as they have hoped.

Seems it still needs some changes in order to fit well, once installing.

Just for reference.

Although annoying, they are relatively simple to do. I can only speak for myself, I am thoroughly pleased with how mine looks and how multi functional it is. DVD, Torque, internet, front-back-reverse cameras, Navigation, etc. One of the best platforms available right now IMO.

I bought the fakra cable as per your link.

Just to be sure, both plugs are male right ?

( Somehow I expected the side connecting to the factory GPS cable to be female )

Thx

Without tearing the dash apart I am trying to remember what is in there. Looking at those links, both are n the back of the unit. This wasnt long enough on it's own for me ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/320978361964...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ) so I had to get this as well ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/161046391703...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT ). I know 100% the second link is in there as I when I was just putting the DVR in this cable was lined out to the glove box where the GPS unit is. I wish I could help more...I am putting in headlights today so maybe I might for some reason get into the dash, but not sure

I bought only the fakra cable male to male, but 1.5m long, so I don't need the extension. If male to male for the fakra cable is correct, I can figure it out when I go to install. Just wanted to make sure I have the correct cable when I start installing, as it will take several days to get another cable if not correct.

Good luck with the headlights :-)

So to be sure I am doing this right since I have the Boston Acoustics system, I need to cut these 4 wires from the harness and add the RCA solder free preouts?. Mine looks a bit different from electronicas version.. I would like to start installing today but I don't want to make a crucial mistake by misunderstanding this step.. Any help would be appreciated!

No, the connector wires you need to cut are on the piece with the 8 Green/White/Gray/Purple wires. Without the BA system, this connector would plug into the back of the head unit and power the speakers with the radio amp. Since the BA system has an external amp, you need to make an adapter or cut the wires from this part of the harness and attach them to 4 RCA jacks. Each pair goes to an RCA jack (e.g. green is + and green/black is - on the RCA jack). Then plug the RCA jack into the corresponding RCA output (FL, FR, RL, RR).
