HOLLY ****! I'm not that up on what you guys are paying up there, but... uhhh... yeah... Are you guys paying about $7K to $8K more than us then? Ouch.

See - someone's always got it worse...

I think that's about right - maybe even less. I'm not saying I want the price to be there; just I hope it's not more. I can't really see the math in that though.

I figured it would be an accurate representation.

IMO why the hell would anyone pay what you can pay for a z06, to get a camaro? The HP numbers are impressive, but that thing will still be a tank compared to the vette.

Because for me, the power is what I'm looking for, in addition to easy of mod'ability. I don't need to carve corners, and since SS is already set-up for that, and has been tuned and the 'Ring, I think it's safe to assume it will be the handler (at this point). Camaro was never intended to compete the with 'Vette anyways, so what's the point. I don't thing a diehard 'Vette person is ever going to take a Camaro over it, likewise, I wouldn't take a 'Vette over Camaro. I wouldn't take a Z06 over a Camaro, even if I had the $$$, LOL. As far as my second point, where I live, unless you have CARB numbers, and law enforcement sees you have illegal parts, you get a big 'old $250 fine. With FI from the factory, an LSA (I'm not assuming this would be the engine, just using it as an example) would get from 556 to 600 horse' pretty easy with just a tune, pulley, CB, and CAI - probably more even. This side of the pulley, these changes would be totally legal since they can all come with CARB numbers (I don't thing catbacks come with CARB numbers because they don't need to be certified). I'm mostly looking for power and a chassis that will take it; I'm looking for a touring car, kinda' like a GT500, and it frustrates me thinking GM may not be able to match that car (I don't blame them). No - I don't need a history of what the Z28 used to be; SSs from the 60s were never tuned to run around a road coarse, so I guess things change. Since I'm a Z28 fanboy, I just want to see it kick the 500's taillights; that's all

As you're aware, Chevrolet is encouraging the SS strategy with cars such as the HHR SS and Cobalt SS. Consistent with this strategy, we have a Camaro SS."

Here is the (almost) final design concept... Pulled this from Motor Trend. Their inside man has informed them that Z28 is (if not finished) is in it's final stages of design, and will feature the same supercharged powerplant as the CTS-V. Now, they say, it's only a matter of funding, as GM is in such a fragile financial state...

Well the 2010 SS will out run and out handle any previous SS or Z28 ever built.. so I don't see the problem, if the SS had been named Z28 this thread wouldn't exist...but then we would have an exact copy of this thread wanting an SS version... Chevy can't win either way LOL
