Why not have Both? I am...

I have never been a Fanboy of a brand, (Except it must be American) I Buy what I Like, I have noticed a lot of Brand Bashing on GM Sites more than any other sites I have been on.

A Friend of mine picked up a New Camaro Last week, and Announced it on the Mustang Collective Forums. The comments are what I expected from the people I hang out with. insted of telling you I will let you look for yourself and you make the call on if you think these guys are top notch guys....

There are haters on both sides evenly, been on plenty of ford forums that can't stand us. I am a gm guy but I don't hate ford, work on them all the time for my mustang buddies cause I am the mechanic of our little group of cars. We all have fun together and bicker playfully like brothers about who's faster and stuff like that.

It's good to see that you're going to have a pony collection. Maybe in a while you'll collect all three with a Challenger. The pony car tradition is a great one, and it is always good to see appreciation of more than one brand.

I like both cars and dont like bashing anyone! But from my personal opinion most Mustange owners I meet when I compliment them on there nice ride instead of just saying thanks or nothing at all they just tell me my 2SS is junk. Challenger owners never treated me this way. Thats possibly same reaction alot of people get! That might be why Camaro owners have started bashing?

We had a lot of fun in the pits teasing poor Scott about how his Shelby GT lost to my V6... It was all good fun! Scott was a great sport and laughing the hardest... There are some of us who just love AMERICAN cars and are out to have fun!! Sad so many guys get hung up on brands or cylinders...

Well if you read the thread there..nobody is really bashing...most of the forums I belong to are true car enthusiasts. In truth Camero5 has the reputation of bashing anything that's not a camaro.

Some of the more mainstay mustang sites like all cars to be rep. Good threads and info is what make real car enthusiast exchange ideals and keeps the competition alive.

Wow, Personally I have never experienced that, I Love the Camaro, Challenger, GTO, Charger yes and even to Colbolt and Neon SRT Any American Car that holds it's own.. I Gave a thumbs up to a 10' Camaro last week after a quick run and he gave me the finger.. and I don't think is was because I beat him.. I go to cruise-in Car shows and Chevy guys Call my Car a "Rustang" and "pusstang" one guy even Spit on my bumper.. Why??
They try to tare my car down by calling it names or say that there "stock Nova can run 12.2 so nothing Special" 12.2 @ 110 mph with Stock Motor and tranny (just bolt-ons) I feel is darn good. Oh and if they ask whats done to it, I tell them and they laugh and say " thats it, ha who cares there are a million of these piles of crap on the road" this one was this weekend, Also the classic.. "Girls only drive mustangs".. yet around half of the 4th gen fbods in the cruise-in were female drivers ... and none of the Mustang drivers we female go figure...

Oh well, maybe the people I hang with are a better class of people. I can agree that this is on both sides but I tend to see it more on the Chevy side. (Remember The Mustang is the first ford I have owned) I am a GM buyer most my life, not because it was GM but because I liked their Cars, Trucks and designs better than the rest, just so happens Ford Came out with a Killer design with the S197 and I had to have one.. Same with Dodge Challenger and the New Camaro, by far the best cars built in recent history from all three. I Will own all 3 cars soon.

This year I an buying a 2010 1SS in CGM and next year a Callenger SRT8 in Dark Titanium Metalic (if they offer it next year in that color).

who cares........all I notice is whenever a Mustang person comes on here the first thing they say is something along the lines of '' I beat this SS'' or '' maybe it was because I beat the guy with the SS.'' It's not bashing but I slaughter GT Mustangs all the time, but have never been on a Ford forum period let alone go into one saying '' well I beat this GT the other day'' because it just sounds stupid. It is like going into a bar looking for a fight with 30 guys. And everytime someone does this, if you look in the corner where their name is, it says drives: some form of Mustang. Not saying all do it, but the percentage is extremely high. It has to be added no matter what in all of the posts they have somehow, even the guys trying to be nice.

i don't really notice that's the pattern. you might hear it once or twice but i haven't heard "i beat this SS" when someone first comes on here that frequently; the GT can't beat the SS as it stands stock for stock when you line them up so i don't think it happens too often

I have heard it every time I begin to comment on a thread about Mustang vs. SS. And I also get it everytime a group of Mustang drivers get together and I drive by. I have even had my modded Trans Am around Mustang drivers saying their stock GT's could beat it. Maybe it's due to the military town we live in having all aspects of society from every where, but it is like a weekly thing at the track. I told them my Trans Am runs mid to low 11's in the 1/4 and they still smirk so it just seems like *most* of the drivers are like that. Even the post on this thread said when he talked about getting the finger from the SS guy, maybe it was because I beat him.

Most people who know and understand car knows a 05~09 GT will not beat a new camaro stock for stock. A 2010gt will come closer, and if the camaro driver slips up, or is bad, then a 2010gt could win.

I think most come here and say this because of the notorious rep this site has. When you goto other forums, the first things you see on other cars are

"the Camaro5 guys claim camaro's will beat anything on the road !!"

So of course you will get people who want to challenge this fact. I mean look at the GT500 vs Henn thread....that guy bluecamarodemon or whatever....he is the type of person that the other forums point to and say

"See !! that guys is from camaro5!!"

Not all owners of cars act the same. People will be loyal to their brand. Many people will exaggerate about what their cars can run or do. Hell even on the kind of car they own...the earlier example did not even own a Camaro !! So if you say you have a TA that will runs 11's, most from another brand will simply not believe you until they see it run. Then of course another excuse will come up. That's not just with Mustangs or Camaro's....thats with Honda's Mitsu's V-Dubs...hell anything that races.

Its the nature of the beast. And it always will be.
