Remove the oil cap and set it aside. Lift up on each corner of the cover in the front (closest to the nose), once each side is out, pivot the engine cover up from the front (as if you're lifting it parallel to the open hood) and pull gently towards you. It pops right off.
NO, haven't tried yet. I was going to, but thought that with my luck, I'd break it. Thanks for all the info! Yours looks great!

I have a Nikon D200. That day I had it set on JPEG normal, ISO 100, 1/125 @ f-4. I fixed the blown out highlights in Photoshop's Camera Raw and also turned up the clarity there. In Photoshop, I was able to open up the shadows in the grill using a 50% overlay and then painting with a white brush.

I have yet to try the HDR, aka the 'Harry Potter effect' since learning it at a seminar back in Jan, because I'm too lazy to carry my tripod and bracket a shot.
Nice shot and edits. Gotta love Nikon! I keep wanting to do the HDR thing too. Maybe I can get motivated this weekend with some decent weather to clean her up and take some shots.

You could go white & orange - or just orange center portion to pick up the stripes. Lot of folks here had some great ideas for theirs.
