My L99 A6 ran 12.9 "tune only." on a mild weather day. So don't cut your L99 short. The L99s need a good tune.

Second.
I ran 12.16 @ 114 mph (bolt ons only) with 20" drag radials. I should be able to run 11.7s - 11.8s with the addition of my converter.

Bolt ons + 150 shot should definitely be deep in the 10s with a tire that hooks.
As said previously, the 5.0 ran 12.9 stock

Please reread the message I quoted, he apparently thought the 5.0 ran the 11.9, I was just correcting that

He has a sct tuner, stock but reworked converter and an x pipe with around 7lbs boost and a boost a pump. I think when he went a 10.30 it was around 8 or 9lbs boost. Normally runs 10.50 on lower boost. He has stock gears, and stock airbox too. Yea, I don't hardly believe it either, but I've seen it run that. So there's no doubt it runs it.

Yeah a lot of the rear section of the new mustang looks very 4thgen like lol

People wanted smoother and more retro Gm answered. Then there are us HP freaks if you want these cars to deliver like the low weight 4thgens then you got to pump up the hp for sure.

And 250 to 300 lbs less weight makes a difference also.

Gotcha, time for some mods.

I ran a 5.0 one of my last trips to the track. He was pretty stock from what I could tell (catback exhaust at least). He was running right around 13.0 flat, so that sounds about right. I know they've run faster than that, but most the stock ones I see at the track are running around 13.0 flat with a good driver. I've seen them run slower, but that's just bad driving.

and according to your argument, 10's were run with 396's in camaros. so none of it is special. 427 W motors were too. early sixties. pretty easily.

Mustang 5.0 goes 9.95, SC cam, headers, cai, throttle body, and torque converter only

Pretty impressive:

Once the car is moving and you are in the powerband, if really makes no difference what gears you have. In fact, shorter gears actually rob more power on the top end, sometimes as much as 20WHP.

The shorter gears just help the car get off the line more quickly and into the engine's powerband.

Horsepower is the only thing that matters. For example, if the car is making 380WHP at its peak, its not going to accelerate any faster with 3.73 gears than it would with 3.31 gears. Acceleration is a function of horsepower, the shorter gears will make the RPM's climb faster, but the speed of the vehicle will rise at the same rate. So you just end up shifting more overall, with no real benefit.

Well there's fuel efficiency... Other than that what's the point of having an 8 or 9 speed(particularly in the IS-F or SRT8 392) ?

The title of the thread says "Supercharger and Cam only"

Does it have a cam? The Video says "stock engine."

These seem to be the major mods

Supercharger
Bolt ons (intake, exhaust, TB, etc)
Converter - stall speed?
Gears
drag wheel and tire setup (with M.T. E.Ts out back)

I must not have a clear understanding of "stock". I thought it meant as it came from the factory. Guess not.
