This whole ordeal sux.

While I still have the rub marks; I'm going through great (and tedious ) measures to limit the damage while still racking up the miles.... I just hit 9,000 this weekend. I sure hope something finally gets done... nearly a full years seems a bit rediculous for a fix.

The fix is for all verts with this problem. The rep was very very careful with his words. I doubt they will issue a recall, but will fix on inspection of damage. They are saying the top and bladder are not associated but one problem may lead to the other. I was told that recalls are typically reserved for safety issues by the rep. I have a call scheduled with GM rep today to discuss what happens between now and when then fix is issued. I cannot use the car in the rain as I will damage the carpets and interior. I try not to use the car if it rains but there are times that this is unavoidable. I have also asked about the 2013 Z tops and will
These come with a fixed top. I just may trade up

I have ~18k as of today. I have requested a warranty extension for the Top, all mechanics associated, the water management system and any water damage for 10 years OR 100k miles what ever come latest. They are in agreement but I have not seen the written agreement yet.

Fingers crossed

I just dropped mine off at the dealer for the 5th bow fix. It took 3 weeks and 3 days for the dealer to get the part. My fingers are crossed for a good job, it's their first convertible repair. And I did drive the car when it was 35 degrees out...the wheels didn't fall off and i didn't crash.

So Nutt what happened on the conference call? My rep was going to check into it when she called yesterday and call me back today. And info would be appreciated before I get my call.

Here's a flying "F-U" to GM and there top issues for my embarrassment tonight... as you may already know; I use masking tape to "protect" against the rub marks thy refuse to fix... on the rare occasion tonight, I took my baby to the gym w me- actually got a prime spot in front of the doors, against a curb... so I backed her in, turned the blue LEDs on and put the top up- just in case it did start to rain.... while working out, I overheard some kids talking about the bad-a$$ camaro vert out side... WITH the blue tape on the roof! I FORGOT TO REMOVE THE TAPE!!!!!!

Damn you GM!!!!!!!!

The GM people on the call, of course , apologized for the first five minutes. I had to stop them and say I really do appropriate it BUT it doesn't account for now 6.5 months of limited use. We discussed the fix which they tell me is being tested and reviewed and should be available mid January. I asked the details and they didn't know. We got into the limited use of my car due to the leak. They are requesting that I get a rental/loaner, I'll know more on Friday. On the extended warranty they offered 6yr 100k which ever comes first. I said it was unacceptable and I still wanted 10/100k which ever is latest. I also asked about the buy back for a ZL1 and this is a possibility but I would need to work this through the dealership also. The problem is the cost of the mods on my car.
I still think I just want my car fixed. I'll hopefully know more Friday since really nothing got worked out. The fix is what I really want to know!

Nope, I have gotten beyond the answer the phone people a while back. They have the data gatherers and the middle managers. Then once in awhile an engineer or supervisor.

just got mine

hello everyone , just picked up my IMO vert this weekend in Atlanta. thank you for the posts. I have to take mine in to have Chevy order a trim piece for the passenger side behind the rear window. the clip in front just behind the window won't pop in, so I will mention the above tsb so they can fix the bracket before the rubbing becomes a problem . happy in tallahassee

I have had mine in the shop 3 times now, first two they weren't sure what to do? The last time in they did a video conference with the engineers at GM so now they want my top back and i have a new one on order. The car is 3 months old i am afraid the new top will have water leaks air leaks??? Well we will see i guess.
