LOL this month I'll make up my excuse if I need one... I'll probably go with, "My wife has a job interview" or something like that.... if we're talking about next year? That might be around fest time... And speaking of the fest... have you been to one?

Not that I can talk much I had to bail on Jim last minute for Fest 3

I still feel bad about it...

Subscribed! Commerce, Ga would be a good location! Plenty of hotels, plenty of room!

Name a track, "mid country," that has a drag strip, autocross pad, (possibly a road course, too) and plenty of room for vendors and over 1,000 people, and is in close proximity to a cluster of hotels that can handle said crowd, and I'm sure the team here at Camaro5 will be more than happy to look into it.

But to just say, "it should be mid country every year for the best turn out," doesn't exactly help the conversation, does it?

I know you're just trying to help provide feedback, but trust me, this entire thread is filled with those exact sentiments, or variations of them. So, the majority of this post is not directed at you, but all of the posts in this thread that share the same vague sentiments as yours.

Everyone here wants the event to be in their backyard. We get it. But considering there are over 68,000 members on this site, that's kind of hard to do. Camaro5 FULLY understands that there's no way a single location will ever make every member happy. That's the point of rotating it around the country. So, while you may not be able to make it to a Fest one year due to distance, the hope is that maybe the following year, or the year after, it will be located closer to you so that you CAN go.

The Fest this year was in Indianapolis. Now, that may not be next door to Fairport, New York, but it's less than half as far from Indy than San Antonio is, and we made it there. Or, to be clear, it was 593 miles closer to you than it was to me.

But you will not hear me complain about the distance, ever. I enjoyed the heck out of that drive.

The point here is, just because the next one may be too far for you to attend, doesn't mean the following one will be. So, do some research and provide some valuable intel and be a helpful contributor to the discussion. Who knows, you may uncover a gem that many have overlooked.

It looks like it. If it is, it looks like the Fest will be fall of 2013. But that's just a guess..
