"I have an idea for a great feature article for one of the top car rags. They should go to the Milfor Proving Grounds some time in 2014. We'll have the CTS-V, Z06 or ZR1 and the Z/28. Then we take the three or four fastest shoes at GM and give them a turn in each of the cars. Average the lap times and crown one of them as THE Fastest Shoe at GM.

Oh yeah, Ring times.

ZR1 7:19
Z06 7:22
Z/28 7:30
ZL1 7:41 "

The fastest Shoe at Milfor may not be the fastest at the Ring, the undulations and bumps tests who can maintain control while air borne or on to the bump stops.

Who was the driver for the 7:22 Z06 lap, I doubt anyone else can repeat that?

I'd be shocked to see an 11 second difference at the Ring between the two Camaros, but I'm willing to defer to Pete's guesstimate as he is clearly more of an authority than I. Lots of long straight, sweepers, bumps and elevation changes. The MR and HP of the ZL should be better used at the Ring vs a smaller tighter track. Just my thoughts on the subject. Looking forward to seeing the new Z/28 in action.

Rumor has it orders in 2nd or 3rd quarter and delivery in spring 2014. I hope I am wrong. Can we get Becky or Al O's adopted son to chime in?
