Did you at the time unplug the two in the A-pillar?

make sure the OBDII reader your using will read sir codes. not all will. such as autozone store would not read them. so if it won't read it.....it can't clear the code, because it can't access the SIR control module. if at anytime during the dash removal you key up with any air bag disconnected, you will get a SIR light on the I.P. cluster, sometimes even though you have them all plugged back in. I don't remember right off hand if the module will clear itself after so many ignition cycles, like most of the other modules if the there really isn't a fault code present. I will check service information and get back.

I didn't see any plugs on the side curtains. I had assumed they were under the roof liner.

I assumed they could read the SIR codes but I at least tried (an older Acton and a new SCT). I haven't read through the service manual completely on this yet. It's very disjointed when it comes to diagnostics.

I did turn the key on to put it in neutral but I don't remember if I had already disconnected the air bags yet. It was only two days ago.....

Thanks,
Don O

did you have the seats out? usually you have to disconnect an sir connector, maybe didn't get put back on. if you don't know any connector that is yellow is sir. somethings I have run across over the years.........I have seen the shorting bars inside the the yellow connectors cause a problem, if bent and stay shorted when connected back together will set a light. also sir coil needs to go back on as it came off. can't be rotated 360 degrees then put back on. otherwise when the steering wheel is rotated full turn one way or the other, the winding inside the coil itself will break and set a code. hope some of this helps. make sure the two sir connectors on the steering air bag are pushed all the way down, flush against the air bag, no gap. finding what code set will really help in diagnosing problem.

I only could find history codes clear after 100 ignition cycles.

Thanks guys. I think I might have turned the key on with one of them disconnected. I did not remove the seats. I double checked the steering wheel and passenger side connections today. All are secure. Guess I can go and try 100 starts tomorrow and see if that clears it

I guess only dealers have the special readers for the SIR codes, bummer.
