Interesting. A bit more hp and tq than the LS7. I was expecting a bit more, but I guess we need details on the total package before we know how well it will match up to the current Z/28. It is hard to believe it will be a game changer at this point.

Im trying to figure out where exactly the advantage is to all that high revving they have been bragging about. Peak HP@7500 isnt a significant jump from the Coyote. Esp when the TQ falls off before 5k.

From 2000-3500, the LT-1 makes 100ft/lbs of torque MORE. At 3500rpm there is a huge jump in torque on the GT350, but it still stays maybe 25-30ft lbs less than the LT-1. All this thing can do is rev higher, hence the higher HP number. What a joke. With a 6 speed manual it will have its hands full with an A8 SS. For 50k? Yikes. |

LS7 makes a lot more torque...481. Better torque curve too, this engine is severely lacking below 3500.

Sorry, I thought I saw somewhere else it made 479 TQ (thought LS7 was 470). Yeah, 429 is not much if you don't have some good gearing to go with it.

A massaged lt1 is all a z28 will need to keep up with this in the straits. An update to the 10 year old ls7 would really shut them up... They really need to meet them na to na with the z28 imo. Looks like an easy target.
It will lose weight. But so will the z28. Great news |

Thing is gonna be exactly what I thought it would be. Like a high strung 2-stroke engine. WOT all the time to do anything.

Actually it just killed pushrods. May throw gm into bankruptcy. And we will be using dohc next year. Haven't you heard? Oh and it's a fair comparison to an ss because the ss is too expensive to compare to a Gt. That's right it starts at around 15k more than an ss if you include gg tax for the bare bones model. Sounds like accurate logic... Lol Add that to the free bag of excuses you told me about...they've had this ready for a while lmao... |

Sorry...love the car (GT350), not impressed with the numbers. These numbers are for maybe getting top speed on a long road, but road racing and twisties, I just don't think so. I just love torque, and lots of it. And I said it before, while the engine sounds awesome, it sounds similar to the gen6 Camaro V6 from the reveal.

But, in all fairness, the Voodoo cant take ALL the credit for the pending doom of GM and PR engines. TheContraceptive has also, had a large part in it!!! With all his insider info and intelligence.

Yup. .I've never heard more excuses than I have on the Mustang forum. Honestly, I'm glad I bought my Mustang second hand and didn't give the monies to Ford. LOL. Now I want a new Camaro or a Scat Pack Charger.

As it stands, the LS7 is more impressive. I agree on a mild tweak of the LT-1 will rub their face in the dirt just like the LT-1 is going to do to the new Coyote 5.0. Looks like an SS will be a good drag race for a GT350 as I believe, but am not sure, that it's only the GT350R that's losing weight. I heard 5 or 600lbs, but in typical Ford fashion it will be 150lbs tops (but it will feel like 5-600 according to the Mustang boys due to the CF Wheels) |
