Cadillac is a different division. The Camaro and Corvette are in the same division. I really don't see Chevy rating the '17 ZL1 with more HP than the Corvette Z06. I'll be the first to eat my words if that happens. I think the final rating will be exactly what was announced yesterday, 640 hp, 640 tq.

I know this has been talked about for many years, but I've been reading that once again GM is considering making Corvette their own division.

Agree......but look for the 2017 Z06 to receive a small bump in power (probably can be easily done via tuning), so the '17 ZL1 may inch up a bit to come in at 650 and also keep the CTS-V in a solid 3rd place at 640.

I think they came out with estimated 640 because they knew it would be higher.

Corvette is the lone Chevy and America's sports car. It's their Halo car. Caddy makes many models to warrant their own Division - just as Buick and Oldsmobile....RIP Pontiac.

What a jump, equivalent weight to HP would mean the C5 ZL1's would need to have 673 HP to match the C6 ZL1. The combination of weight decreases and HP boost is very powerful in this match!

Thinking hard about it

I have a 2011 SS and love it to death. If I can adjust my thinking on the styling though, (not in love with the catfish grill), I might just be in the market. Will depend on what it looks like in person and the price.

That is why I went ahead and modded my '15 a few months after I purchased it. Actually, I wanted to get it closer to the Hellcat in power. Calculating a 20% parasitic power loss crank to wheels (automatic), I'm in the 725hp range at the crank. As this is my daily driver, I think I will hold there for a bit.

Okay I have some rookie I gotta get outta me...launching with Minimal spin what's the best way? The old cruisers you'd just punch it... No you punch you spin. Now even with warm tires I spin spin spin.

No one in Jersey......

.......will be allowed to buy one. Why, might you ask?
Because if they put a state required, front license plate ANYWHERE near the front end, their life as a Chevy Lover would be in jeopardy.

CO state law demands front plates on vehicles... been driving my 1LE w/o a front plate since new.
