the trunnion upgrade I believe is the most responsible for quieting down things..and possibly the newer cam lobe designs having better valve train control...the only thing I hear now is the injectors clickin away....

I have max'd out my injectors with my set up and just ordered upgraded ones and am doing the flex fuel conversion to run both 93 or E-85. Have your tuner tell you how close you are to maxing out those stock injectors.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have my tuner look when we get to that point and let me know. I didn't even think of them being my next limiting factor. No E-85 round here though, or 93 even. Best I can get is 91 so that's what we are going to tune for.

Thanks man! I'll be super excited to finally get to drive it and see how she runs! Kills me to do all this work just to put it right back under the car cover Lovely Kansas weather..

That's very likely. I haven't been around a lot of these to have any comparisons, but it sure seems quiet! All I hear is the injectors like you, and the exhaust pulses hitting the inside of the headers. Just glad it didn't fire up and sound like a sewing machine!

Well, this weekend I got a 2nd heat cycle on it. Also got my transmission drained and filled back up, so should be ready to rock after another heat cycle!! Started getting garage cleaned back up too. Almost looks like there wasn't a swap being done now.

Spoke with my tuner a bit, and we are going to watch the weather and try to do some tuning on it here in 2-3 weeks. Crossing my fingers for some decent weather so I can see what it can do!

Actually spoke with my tuner today. Weather looks like it should be decent this week. If it holds out, we are going to tune it this Saturday the 3rd. I'm pumped! It's been hard to build this and then just let it sit the past couple weeks!

Got my heat cycles in, and no signs of any fluid loss/leaks. May go for a brief cruise if I can just to make sure it seems fine but it should be ready to hit the dyno/street!

For now, here is a picture of it all back together and cleaned up.

Not yet. I have a feeling she's gonna be begging for them after this! That'll probably be the next mod. Then get to working on suspension/drivetrain upgrades

While I wait the long week for Saturday to roll around, anyone wanna take a guess at numbers?? Here is my baseline run. Put down 385/407 with LT headers, no cats, and the rotofab intake, with the stock tune

I have no idea exactly how much difference there is between the two, but the only dyno around here is a Mustang, if that makes any difference on your guess.

I'm gonna say 498/434...just so I can't be disappointed if she doesn't quite hit the 500 mark.

I know it doesn't really matter, mostly just trying to pass the time until Saturday. And not like anyone's guess will change the outcome. I am tapped on car funds for now so it is what it is! But, with as good as you are at "calling it"/guessing things round here, I'd be curious to see what you think # wise and how close you end up

Regardless of what it puts down, I will be proud to see it rev out and hopefully not explode on the dyno. Then I'll know all this hard work was worth it!

Weather now says sunny and 67 degrees..that's as nice as we usually get this time of year here! Just 4 more days!!

As for Cfest...probably not gonna happen. That is a LOOOOOONG haul from here. I have a few friends planning to run Rocky Mountain Race Week this year, and I am considering trying to do that one this summer. We shall see.

tks fer da kudos! as I have stated before I like to help(or at least point ya in the right direction) and a prob resolved is enough...

as for #'s..that is a new area on these motors..I have seen so many different results and the variables are astonishing....add to the fact that I believe the mustang dyno's show lower numbers(right?) than another dyno....

but...445/470 mustang....460/465...diff dyno...prob seriously off base and don't be pissed at my #'s...and lookin at your previous dyno run I think your valve springs where shot and she went in float at such a low rpm...that curve just doesn't look right...

good luck and no worries...it'll hold together just fine! peace.
