Ya.... moose thru the windshield never works out well for anyone. Legs are a lot longer than deer.

it's a natural reaction to swerve......Glad you are OKAY! Have fun shopping for a new car and TAKE your time-
you said Black C7-I hate black, they are impossible to clean If you have never owned black you might not understand....if you have, you know it is a labor of love. |

Sorry for your loss KKreme, but happy to hear that you walked away!
My husband is always telling me to not swerve if there is an animal in the way, but not necessarily because I might lose control, but because if you hit the animal & it does damage to your vehicle it is a collision that does not go against your insurance! But if you swerve & do end up hitting a tree/ditch/power pole..etc, then it is considered an at fault collision and your insurance will go up, at least in our state...and my husband really does knows this as he is an insurance agent! Although, in your circumstances may have done the same thing and swerved! Hope that I never have to find out. Take care and I recommend seeing a massage therapist when you start to feel sore (most likely the morning of the next day). Last edited by Liralen; 07-30-2013 at 03:22 AM. Reason: spell corrections |

One of the main selling points of this car that enabled me to convince the wife to let me have it was its 5 star crash/safety rating. We are now seeing why the LSA is a distant 2nd in most important features on the car.
God bless you my friend and I'm so happy you lived to see another day and walked a way with little more than a broken heart. |

Ouch! Glad your OK was really looking forward to meeting up with you at one of the car shows with both our IOM's.
These cars may wiegh a ton, but I like the way they hold up after a bad spill. Take care of your self and please post a pic of your new car.

Well, it would seem that you my friend, are in desperate need of a new ZL1. I'm sure BeckyD or Tom Henry will be glad to hook you up with another and just in time for the '14's arriving now.
I've lived by that same motto of not swerving to avoid animals and placing my life at risk but I was put in the same situation years ago heading to base one morning and one got me in the middle of a curve in the road that also had loose pee gravel due to road repair (no signs anywhere) and it only took a small reaction on my part to set things in motion. I rolled it at least 3 times but landed on the wheels and I'm fortunate that the good lord blessed me to walk away with only bruising from my seatbelt but it saved me for sure after my seat frame broke during the rollover. Again, I'm glad your okay and I know your ready to get back in the saddle of another ZL1 soon.
