We have yet to see what a normal SS will do on track, it should be really fast. If a 1LE version of it is as much faster than the SS as 5th Gen 1LE was it should be pretty impressive for the price. Only problem will be is that it will be 75HP down to the GT350.

Im betting the 1SS with MRC will be damn close to a 5th gen 1LE, my money is still on the 5TH gen. The 6th 1LE will be fantastic.

Al O. at Camaro Fest stated that '16 Camaro SS without MRC is lapping faster than out going 1LE around Milford Proving grounds road course.

I believe he said a base SS, which would imply no MRC.

Well, looks like I'll hold onto my 5th Gen a little longer. I wanna see if this 1LE turns out to be true. We're currently waiting on our SS to fit it up with a blower. Can't wait to get some seat time in that.

But I wish the base 6th gen is gonna be faster than a 1LE or equal..its gonna be a real bargain without MRC!!! LOL.. I remember Ford saying the new GT is going to be faster than the 444hp Boss..false in straight line and cornering.

It's been discussed before, but there may be a possibility of no 1L-E option for this gen....The SS is already said to outperform last year's 1L-E....and the SS has larger brake, MRC and cooling options available for standard SS models..
I say those two vids are of a ZL-1 with an LT-4, and a Z/28 with a......Turbo-V-6!!!! I think they already built the 1 and 2 SSs track worthy enough that a 1L-E wouldn't be that much different....all the track goodies mentioned that everyone would want in a 1L-E will be in the Z/28....Just my guess... |

As awesome as the SS is by itself, it wouldn't take much to mod it yourself into a 1LE... |

I don't see a Z28 coming. I believe there will be ZL1 for sure and possibly and 1LE. It's fun speculating until we find out for sure.

I am amazed that people don't think there is anything left to improve on an under tired SS with body roll and a compromise suspension. Regardless of how fast it is, there is room for a 1LE.
