I'm of the opinion that if you aren't doing anything stupid, Police Officers will pretty much ignore you, no matter what you drive. If you have illegal tint, illegal covers on your brake lights (that is illegal in AZ - need to see the reflection even when not on), driving fast in the left lane, etc, you need to expect to get pulled over.

I am a little slow..You are going to have to explain to me what those cops have done wrong to you and how they have been jerks? While I wouldn't write a ticket for 5 over (I don't even pay attention to you until 15), you are comparing a different vehicle to essentially what most certainly was a DIFFERENT cop patroling at a different time frame. Unless you have proof that the same exact cop allowed you to drive by in excess of the speed limit in your mustang is the same that stopped you now then I don't see the validity in your statements. Strictly due to the fact that every cop is different in what he feels are "dangerous speeds". I feel 20-30 over is far too dangerous while shift partners of mine feel 5 is... Again, You mentioned that you were once stopped and cited for 5 over, yet failed to mention the speeds of the other two? I can only imagine they were higher then. While we may not agree on the levels of enforcement and criteria for stops..they were all justified from what I am gathering.

"Plus I can feel the self righteous "we're saving lives by slowing you down" BS in the way they talk"

Trying the best I can to make this an educational experience for others who read this, but with statements like that it makes you appear rather foolish and unable to take responsibility for any of your actions. The assumptions are fantastic, but this quote is the best of the month on C5.

I am selling tin foil hats for only 100 dollars. Free shipping.

I can PROMISE you the police will not cite you if you do not break the law and it also protects you from the aliens. If the cops stop you because you match the description of another vehicle related to criminal activity, well that is just a part of life. Let me know if you are interested. All this...only 100 dollars.

This "suspicion" you speak of has to have a basis and reasoning for a stop. No one is going to risk their career and financial standing for a civil suit that could arise for just stopping the Camaro for S- and G-'s.

You and I are in the minority.

yes it is an attention getter, no doubt about that. but it's really the driver who breaks the law, not the car. ive been pulled over twice in my mustang.

1st time, it was late at night. I just came back from a friends house who I rarely ever see and he lives an hour away. I stopped in at safeway and I bought something to eat, and on the way home. I pass by a cop, I was doing about 20 in a 25. and I see him flip a bitch in my rear view mirror. and I get the lights. he said you have no front plate, and complimented me on my car. and I told him I just got it. he let me on my way.

2nd time. I was really stressed from work and wanted to get home. I was doing about 40 in a 25 and i turn a corner, and the cop gunned me. he pulled me over complimented me on my car and gave me a ticket. but I was in the wrong this time.

Well now I feel better knowing it's the car, I always thought it was the excessive speed, hole shots and general screwing around that gets me pulled over.

No more than anything else necessarily. I see more Soccer Moms in SUVs getting tickets than Camaros. Just watch the speed and anything that draws unnecessary attention to yourself.

I wrote about 800 tickets last year, not one a Gen 5 Camaro. What am I doing wrong?

I did get pulled over by highway patrol for going 92mph in SoCal. He gave me a warning (knock on wood), but he was still a prick. However, most of the guys/gals I work with (officers) know I have (possibly) the only white Camaro (in our crime ridden town), so they leave me alone when I do something bad except for one officer the other night. He paced me as I went to park in our employee parking. Jerk! Parked it up front to make sure he'd see it when he was end of shift. Saw him half hour later and he never acknowledged me.

I have had my Camaro 2SS since May 09, not a problem at all. It really is the driver and thier driving habits versus the car. When I was in law enforcement I was not looking for a particular car, just a particular type of behavior from the operators of the vehicles.

Cop magnet= driving a $40,000+ car= revenue for the city Guareenteed, drove a $1200 GEO Metro for 2 years and NOBODY noticed, not even the people on the roads. Countless Near Misses and our local PD wouldn't even look my way. Driving the Camaro is like riding my Harley, people stop and stare and Ask BIG,BAD,Fast and How Much Sir?..Believe what you drive is an extention of your personality and So you must conduct yourself above reproach. Drive something nobody sees everyday and Yes THEY ALL are watching/Good and Bad, but I wouldn't have it any other way and like my daughter always asks while were out and about....Why does EVERYBODY stare at US??? ........Cause We Drive THIS!!! and not (That) over there...LMAO

haha what? With that logic every single sport utility vehicle in the chevy lineup should be stopped more than the Camaro for the SINGLE reason of generating revenue.. Tahoe and Suburban 50K = guarenteed rev?

This is the best damn car on the road in my opinion. I also believe it is the most attractive looking car, but I swear some of you guys think we drive the ZR1. The difference is this car LOOKS like it is worth 60k, if any average american actually took the time to realize how low priced this vehicle is they would be shocked. If we didn't have the mustang to compete with you could bet your next paycheck this car would be in the 60s and STILL sell. Hell, I still know people here in Orlando are paying 50+ for the 2SS.

Now, I never once said the Camaro doesn't get stares. However, stares don't just automatically populate little pink pieces of paper in your hands with fines on them.

The geo metro analogy is absolutely absurd, kind sir.. Of course you can't be stopped when your vehicle tops out at 25 mph. I am just messing with you...a few bump stickers and a spoiler and the GEO is ready for the track.

Yeah, I think we have "beaten the dead horse" about the "ticket magnet" issue enough times on this forum. Its the actions and illegal equipment or lack of necessary equipment "we" are looking for not the car. I mean can you blame a guy for looking at a nice car or a muscle/exotic car. If it passes by its in a guy's DNA to take a look-- the car stopping part is a whole different ballgame. In another thread I stated that in 9 yrs of law enforcement I haven't stopped a newer Camaro, Mustang, or a Vette. Well, I have to admit--- now I stopped my first 5th Gen about 3 weeks ago around Christmas. It was in the dark and a non RS pkg so no way to tell what it was until I pulled out to stop it. 61/45. She was a nice lady. "Oh Officer you got me". Asked her about her modded exhaust and how she liked driving on PZeros in the cold weather. Said she had Flowmaster catback exhaust that gave her 40 more HP????????? OK Anyway, I gave her a warning ( 20 over is my ticket threshold) and put in a plug for the forum. Yeah, don't bash the traffic officers for illegal mod bustin' they are only doing their job no matter how small of an infraction you think it is.
