Perspective might be important,

The Camaro is my wife's daily driver, virtually all of my friends own (used in the past and present tense) performance cars covering a wide range of cars.

"Car Nuts" (gender neutral term) are brought in to the "club" by their experiences with "neat" cars that make an impression on them. Last summer, best friends son just got his license and he drove the Camaro (the car was ~3 months old) . The picture of him driving it is the first photograph on his facebook page. Future "car nut", has said he will buy a performance car as soon as he gets out of college.

Some people just never get to drive a neat car, hence never get turned on to the (or turned on by ) world of performance cars around them.

I've thrown the keys to clients. They turn it down every time.

The dealer let me and my wife go by ourselves when we test drove it and she drove it for about 2 miles and I let my son drive it when I got it home but that's it .

^^^In that case, baby, you aint driving it...

I handed my dad the keys the first time I got to see him after buying it...

Doug, Tag ur it, drove it to try out the shifter, and will probably get to try out the twins either right before the Fest, or at the Fest...

Kyle.G is welcome to drive it...and probably will around the same time Doug does... and one of the other mods I visited with about it... either a ride or maybe a short drive... slow drive or wild ride...

That is the short list...

I offered to let my wife drive it before the twins, but, uhm... no, not anymore.... one wrong twitch of the foot and it's all over with... She knows I bought it as my toy and she respects that... My sons, one of them jokingly asked one time, I laughed @ him... yeah right... He doesn't drive a standard for starters... He wasn't serious... though if he was I would let him...as long as I rode with him...

The day I went to buy it I went with a friend, who was there to be the heavy and get me a price I could live with. We were going out to dinner after I bought the car so his wife brought his kids (18 and 24 ) to come see my new baby. I tossed the keys to his very mature 18 yo and she drove to the restaurant with me in the passanger seat , she was the first person to drive my car , not me.

I let me friends drive it , especially the one who let me store it in his garage over the winter.

My dad, mom, and brother all drove it the day I brought it home. I even let my older sister (who has MS and has trouble walking) drive it around the block a few times. It's only fair, she let me drive her 2011 Lincoln MKX. I'll let friends take it for a spin but only if I'm in it.

only other person who has ever driven my car was my father, who is a diehard car enthusiast and the most careful person i've ever known when it comes to vehicles. honestly my car is probably in better hands with him than even me.

but yeah nobody else, ever, has driven my car (unless u count the dealership)

My wife has driven the car once and it was kinda scary, not that it was her fault. We are cruising down the interstate and are coming to our exit when some idiot in a POS 85 Mustang that looks like it came out of Frankenstein's junk yard cuts us off.

Immediatley after that some oblivious woman in a Honda does the same thing and then gets in the wrong lane. She then gets back in our lane behind us and tailgates us while digging around in her purse in the passenger seat looking for her cell phone.

Needless to say I was very relieved when we got to our destination. I am willing to let my wife drive the car again, but for some reason she is a magnet for bad drivers.

As for anyone else driving it, I'll let my dad drive it the next time I go visit my parents. I might even let my older brother drive it if he promises not to do anything stupid!

no way in hell does anyone touch my baby. I let wifey drive but she is a hermit if she goes anywhere its to her moms. I don't mind that, she won't ask to go anywhere else in it.

my wife and i drive it equally, 2 days after we bought it we went to my brother's. i let him drive it, he has let me drive his 71 transam and 73 formula. havent taken it to work yet, but there is a guy there i would let drive it he let me drive his camaro about 15years ago. i want to let my dad drive it, he is 80 and very active. 30 years ago, he has had 68 and 70 mustang convertables, 69XKE jaguar , 70 jg v12 hardtop (i drove them all).

funny short, 28 years ago i gave my dad a ride in my 77TA 4spd, i punched it in first gear "GOOD GOD!" he said. 2 weeks ago i did the same thing in the 2010 and he said the same thing...PRICELESS

The only person who has driven my car is my wife. She drove it about 3 weeks after I bought it, she thought it was incredibly impressive, but it was too much car for her. She also said that she wouldn't want to be responsible for it, so she doesn't drive it. She's only driven it one other time since then.

I've offered two buddies of mine at work, one who let me drive his 09 Mustang GT when it was brand new and one who has a '98 Firebird Formula with a completely built motor, but both of them said 'no'! I was very surprised!

My roommate is always asking me to let her take my Camaro on a road trip to foxwoods in Connecticut. I keep telling her over my dead body. But I used to let her drive my Mustang any time she wanted. Shows you how protective I am about my Camaro compared to my old Mustang.
