Ha believe it or not I haven't been there in over five years. Got boring as a kid living less than 15 minutes from it. I absolutly hate the traffic during the summer tho lol.

Nick6, always better to ask forgiveness than beg for permission! If it's your daily driver though... Stick to the drag strip. Less chance of hitting another car

I went twice back when I still lived in OH, but I've been to Kings Island more.

Yeah, it's my DD. I was only planning on the drag strip. I never even thought they would allow to non-professional drivers to race each other on a windy track

Oh yeah. I live by Infenion raceway and you can pay to run around the track but the track pro has to take you out first and show you the best way to enter and exit the turns.

Both the Camaro and sky are awesome cars and I have the great fortune of owning both. Hands down the sky will gather twice the attention, trust me I drive them both regularly. The SS feels more powerful, but the sky feels lighter and much more agile. This is what they were designed for. Both designed by the same company, so busting on Saturn as a brand is ignorant.

We all love our cars, no reason to be so jealous of others, it makes you look bad. After 2 years with the Camaro and 4 with the sky, I would sell the Camaro way before I sell the sky. It is much rarer, unique, more fun, and extremely collectible. This is of course my opinion, but it comes from ownership experience not from hypothetical chatter.

PS - I would not trade either for a mustang or challenger

Well put and I agree totally ... For me when describing them I consider my SS as a F-15 and the Sky as a F-16. I plan on taking the Sky to our dyno day next weekend just for S&G to see what it will do. I'll post some numbers when I get them.

The Saturn SKY was brought in to Saturn as a HALO car to bring people back to that brand after years of failed design. All the cars that came out of saturn after 2007 where derivatives of other GM cars. They got rid of all the plastic body panels and crap designs. It was becoming Chevrolet 2, which is why they closed it. It made no sense to have two chevrolets. The original idea of the company was based on being different at the time it came out. If they started now they would probably been more focused on alternate fuel vehicles.

The SKY was pushed out by Bob Lutz, it was a pet project of his. I went on 2 Tours of the Factory in Delaware with the SKY / Solstice Forum members and we walked the assembly line during a production day. It gives you new found respect for all of those involved in the auto industry.

The Sky was based on a shortened Corvette chassis. Which is why you need lifting pegs (Pucks) to properly lift the car without cracking the rocker panels or front fender panels. The entire suspension was designed specifically for the SKY by a GM employee that also worked on the Camaro whom I met in Delaware. The Engine in the SKY is the GM Ecotec platform, LNF series. The Non-Turbo or NA SKY and solstice has a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder and the Turbo (Redline / GXP) have a 2.0 Version of the Ecotec with a Turbo. This is the same exact engine found in the Opel GT, Chevy Cobalt SS, Chevy HHR SS, Fisker Karma, and Effin T5. Super solid four banger which took the award for the highest output per liter at 130HP per liter!! The Camaro SS is only 68.7 HP per liter, HENCE THE REASON THE SKY KICKS BOOTY!! Not because of unfair turbo advantages .

Just thought I would add some factual info since I read a bunch of stuff in this thread that were way off base!

It is a GM guys, it is as much a Chevy as it is a Saturn.....That is only a badge or branding by the mother company....do not get hung up on brands,do your research. Had it not been for the direct competition with other chevrolets (Corvette for looks and direct competition with the Cobalt SS with the same engine) it may have come out a Chevy. Same people did much of the design on the Camaro as they did on the SKY, and I know because I met and talked to them myself.

BTW - My Saturn is now expertly serviced at a Chevrolet dealer that is a GM Goodwrench dealer!!

Cool, I have seen the numbers. The power output on these cars are so linear it is insane and fun to watch the DYNO. But it is always cool to see the variances from car to car with different tunes so please do post, it would be great to see. Most of all have fun doing it!
