Hey y'all, I've been a lurker for a while and I'm sad that this is where my first post is going.

My automatic 2012 2LT RS had jumped switching gears a few times and I just blew it off since it only happened every once in a while at the same speeds others have mentioned (25-45 and after stop lights). I have a lot of miles on my car already from making 3 round-trips home to PA from Alabama, but rarely drive it around at that speed.

Today, I park it and come back 5 minutes later to leave: start it, put it in reverse, no back up camera.... So I am a little weirded out and hit the gas lightly, car goes forward. Put the car in park, try again, car goes forward. At this point I have about 2 inches of going forward until I smack a cement barrier, so I put the car back into park and shut it off. It ended up going into reverse when I turned the car back on. I was only about 0.4 miles from my apartment to I immediately drove it home (it felt awful) and called the local Chevy dealer. They can't get me in until Friday, I am a masters student and I HAVE to get to class so we will see how the week goes and how the appointment goes on Friday.

It's not sounding really great right now.

Question: When you finally got it into Reverse, did you get the camera back on? Or were you too p!ssed by then to notice?
You've got my prayers and crossed-fingers that your dealer makes this go away, fast and forever.

Back-up camera came back on! I am also have issues with my power seat (which dealers haven't really been able to help me with) and my Bluetooth on and off. I am lucky if I get over 10mpg, which a dealer laughed at me when I complained. I had a Scion tC and Toyota Celica before this (both over 115,000 miles and never a major issue, averaged 36mpg), which made my Dad cringe (loyal to GM since the early 80s, even a GM credit card), and was really hoping to be proved wrong with my previous perception of American cars. One more issue and my Camaro is probably getting traded in, I don't have the time for issues. I wanted this car for over a year, begged and pleaded, I love the look of it but I've just been pretty disappointed with the quality for $35,000.

Hoping it'll be fixed, have no more issues, and I won't have to see her go; but I'm not getting my hopes up.

As you know from lurking since August, you're lucky you've got a coupe and not a convertible. **
** If you had a convertible, we'd have heard from you before now.

I hope you can get your dealer to slam the lid on Pandora's Box of problems and keep it closed!

Congrats on going for your Masters. The last thing you need is an automobile headache as a distraction, plus transportation problems.
Get a loaner and leave the worrying to the mechanics.

No philosopher here, just going on what I have learned from what life has dealt me. Especially in the last 2 years...

Sorry, what you've been through leaves you philosophical.
Trust me, I know. It's unavoidable.

P.S. I was unplugged over the Holidays and when I got back I saw your avatar and said,
"Hey, there's another Angry Bird!"
It was -you-
Happy New Year, by the way!

Thanks, my son and his wife found that hot wheels AngryBird and gave it to me for Christmas. So far it's been a good start to the year, got to put the top down and go for a drive for about 3 hours yesterday. It was great. We are still loving our Convertible.
Happy new year to you too......

Thank you, it is a really stressful thing particularly since I am halfway across the country from my fix-it Dad and trusty hometown mechanic. I am pretty happy I didn't get a convertible (it was tempting too) and glad that I didnt do any of the mods that I wanted to do over Christmas break! It would've been awful to put a lot of money into it only for this to happen two weeks later.

I'll give an update on Friday of exactly what comes out of it, but since so many people have already had a similar issue, kind of already have a good guess.

Keep us all in the loop. Every situation helps everyone to know how to handle the next problem experience.

I joined this Forum in 2009 when I bought my '10 coupe. Got bored with the car and traded it for a '12 convertible. Never dawned on me to check the "Convertible" area of the Forum before buying it.
I never had a single issue with the coupe. N.O.N.E.

Anyway, I brought the new car home and decided to change my avatar and personal info to reflect the new convertible. Loved the heads-up display, the back-up camera, the IBM color, and the rag top.

I browsed the Convertible list of topics and KA-BOOM !! Pages and pages of Top Troubles.

So, I put the top down once, not wanting to open Pandora's Box. No problem, I loved the look of the top (up).

Then...I read about brakes, transmission, rear windows, side windows, air-bag seat-sensors, emission system failures, leaking brake fluid reservoir, oil leaks, etc. etc. etc.

I was too afraid to drive it.

My morning:
Get up at 7 on my 5 day long weekend and take it to the dealership by 7:45, they take it right away. Earlier in the week I was told they would drive me back to my apartment to wait while they checked it out. Yesterday, Alabama got 1/2 inch of slush on the roads and panicked, and although all the slush melted by Yesterday at 2:30 pm, they said it was unsafe for their driver to drive me. (So what they meant was someone was hungover and didnt come to work today, mind you it's 50 and Sunny, it's no longer even wet)
I see them drive my car in a 50 ft circle around the parking lot whilem 3 people watch Friends with Benefits on my iPad over my shoulder.
So, I wait for a little over two hours, when I finally find another awake college student, which is a miracle in itself to come pick me up after I bribed her with McDonald's breakfast. (Still "unsafe" for their driver to take me home) I am have tempted to post what it looks like here, bikini weather if in Ohio.
We pull out when I get a call saying that my seat is fixed, I've heard that before so we will see if it last more then 3 days this time fingers crossed. They also say that they could not replicate the jumping when it shifts and it went into reverse fine , but there are several bullitens out they will look at. One of which needs the car to sit for 24 hours. I ask for a loaner car, he says there is one but it is in detail and is not ready, he will call.
So here I am, stuck at my apartment at 11:15 waiting to be told it is ready and then some how bribe someone else to take me back to the dealership, maybe ill go for Chipotle this time.

Considering that its a weekend, and then MLK, I expect to have an answer by... Next Thursday, maybe. We'll see how the sage continues. It's been a great day.
