Holy sheet, zl1 might out handle the gt500 but the extra ponies will keep it ahead... No the zl1 will stay ahead cause of it superior handling... Sound like a bunch of kids arguing over who's gonna get the last piece of cake. We really don't have much info on the 2013 gt500 handling. So for now let's stop bench racing. 2012 zl1 vs 2012 gt500? Zl1 is already the better car. This is coming from a ford guy. Drivers race? On a straight line.. Curves? Camaro.

Im pretty sure that some of the gt500 owners on here know a couple Z owners, might even have one in there neighborhood. We are all car enthusiast here, so the idea that these to cars havent met on the road or at least at a car meet to set someting up is. to think that after a month of deliveries nobody wants to know what will happen on the strip more Even the Rags are silent on this match up WTF!!!!! super

If i was a ZL1 owner the first thing id want to know is wheather or not i made a good purchase by pushing this thing to the advertised limits cuz 60k is alot of money for a garage trophy just sayin. and yea one could say that 60k is alot to pay for a car that could be damaged on the track sure your 100% right looks are nice but if ya cant hang with the competition WTF is the point. there are plenty of cool looking cars you could get for 60k. but these arent just ANY cars are they

all im saying is No more excuses!!!! racing and performance driving is the whole reason we all own these cars. If it weren't we'd all have 1.3 liter four banger hybrid powertrains and would only argue over who could get better MPG on their commute to work everyday.
How do you know they are "all talk"?

My 2010 GT500 is down for mods. I'm replacing the 2.8 Kenne Bell with a 3.6 LC. Whooping a ZL1 will excite me about as much as the 132nd or was it the 133rd F-Body I whooped in my 2003 Cobra before I sold it.

Have you ever driven a 2012 GT500?

How about a ZL1?

Better how? For a time I thought the ZL1 would be a little ahead of a 2011/2012 GT500 on a drag strip but from the times I've see it would struggle against a 2010 GT500 with an iron block down 20-30 ponies. It almost appears dollar for doallr for mods a 2003 Cobra would walk all over a ZL1 because $1200 in mods and slicks put a 2003 Cobra in the 11.30's.

Please don't start comparing a modded older car to a stock brand new one. It just adds to the stupidity in the thread.

Thank you.

So rather than read through the whole thread of "mine's bigger than yours, do we have yet actual video footage of a GeeTeeFiveHundred running with a ZedElOne?

I'm Camaro loyal to the end. So I may be bias, but I love how GT500 fans on this site act like they know the 2013 GT500 from tire to roof, when barely any information has been released on the car.

The only information that hasn't really been released for the GT500 is the performance specs. So we know all about the Car itself in the sense of what options are available but we don't know 0-62, 1/4 mile, etc....

Exactly. But some people on here act like they know everything about the car, including performance.

To be fair I don't see the GT500er's acting any more/less stupid then the Camaro guys here. Camaro guys have it ingrained in their minds the GT500 can't handle, despite the fact that the 2011/2012 actually handle quite well and GT500 guys have written off the ZL1 as a competitor due to owners inability to replicate GM's results.

This is just another thread on this site that has become a joke because no matter how many times the smart members on this site tell the respective teams knob gobblers to reserve judgement until the facts are truly presented, see the performance figures, they fight back and forth like Neanderthals.

So to recap: No matter what facts are presented each team will write the opposite teams car off no matter what happens. Even if either car was miraculously the cure for Cancer.
