To direct more exhaust away from the inner pipes, would it help to pull the NPP exhaust fuse?

same thing just happened to mine. Inside pipe on the passenger side...The service manager said he thought it was a dead animal or horse hair. I was like, How in the hell would horse hair get into my damn exhaust. Luckily, a magnet was brought out to test the horse hair theory and proven wrong...lol New muffler on the way. Kinda bummed because the exhaust is starting to sound good...lol

Its sound insulation packaging that wears over time. A few GM cars experienced the same thing with their stock performance exhausts, such as the TBSS. You can have it replaced, but (the loss of the insulation fabric) it actually will make your exhaust louder. Most people I knew just pulled the worn fabric out once it started exiting the tailpipe, as it doesn't impede performance or operation.

Sounds like a good enough solution to me.

Anyone over 40 that ever rode a motorcycle with an aftermarket exhaust has been down this path. I have a least! I wish mine would burn up faster.

Just looked in my tailpipe and noticed this in my ZL1 too. I have 434 miles right now.

Is the replacement exhaust the same? OEM system is welded front to back? If so do they replace the whole thing?

had my exhaust replaced for the wool packing issue. The exhaust note is noticeably different and a bit quieter.

my car had right at 10K on it when I noticed it. Wish I could take it to the muffler shop and have it cut open and all that crap ripped out and then welded back up and put on the car...lol

Geez!
So if I buy a 2012-13 ZL1, this I have to look forward to?
I'd say F___ it and buy a Corsa instead.
Why go back to the GM Muffler, when you can upgrade.
To heck with GM's warranty.
Hello ?
