I added the gauges, splash guards, skip shift eliminator and never even once felt an inkling of regret.

I dont have either, 2ltrs and fits my needs perfectly. But I would have gone 1ss if that was the choice, in fact my first gut instinct was that but the wife and I like the sunroof here in socal and she likes the leather. When I thought of the 1ss I always wanted, and no offense, a kind of stripped down camaro, remember the 1LE version of the 4th gen? No radio, no a/c, manual windows,autocross suspension, much lighter and faster. But I got the fully loaded v6 becuase I just sit in traffic. Should have just gotten a bicycle!

The only thing I'd like to have is the gauge cluster. It would nice to have an oil pressure gauge in the event of an oil pump failure. Not gonna spend 3K for that. Have no need for leather, more buttons on the steering wheel or ambient lighting.

I wouldnt mind having the Halos and connectivity package, but I did not want leather, and dont care about the painted roof ditch etc. I added the important part of the connectivity package (usb) so I'm all good now.

Find a 2011 2ss still on the lot in the early part of 2012 and save big.

Do not regret it one bit,hell this is my second 1ss.I had a 2010 and recently traded it for a 2011.

I did not want leather nor the interior disco lighting. The only options my 1SS has is the RS package and upgraded stereo, then I added the gauges.

Perfect.

I got the 1SS because thats the most I had to spend Without financing anything. Any mods I do decide on will probably be less than what the average guys monthly payment would be. Already added the leather and it was a Whole lot cheaper and better quality than OEM. I laugh when I read "stripped down" Any you guys ever had a 60s Muscle car ? You were lucky to have power windows. My feet fried on the firewall of my 66 Vette coupe, and No air. Sure was a blast to drive tho.

The crap leather seats and extra gauges (and the HUD gimick) didn't say "Hey, let's spend another 4 or 5k on that" to me.

I got the features I wanted on an 2011 SS (The RS kit, Hurst short throw shifter and the BA Sound system) and took a pass on the over priced, under quality bits that I didn't want to begin with.

Love the 1SS, don't like extra gadgets or leather. Car did have 1 option, electronics package which the wife likes. Everybodys happy.

Those are easily made and alot cheaper and will surpase the quality of RS lights too.

i actually ordered a 2ss/rs, but went with a 1ss/rs i found on a lot one time. i am a kid i really do not need/ car about leather seats. just want my car fast ! and looks cool. !
