I am going to Check mine out Right in Front of the dealer. Maybe twice with the service manager inthe car.

I live 45 minutes from the dealer and I 'm not to eager to winch that car back in my trailer again.

If it doesn't take it then I am going to find one that will...!

That is one of the reasons I bought the car...to have fun with it. If I got to babby peddle it around I don't want it.

I Do really want it too...I absolutely love the car.

( Disclaimer...I Have a Blower)

GM says the launch control is there for us to use, so we should be able to use it without breaking stuff on any stock car. I know I didn't buy this car to have to worry about babying it for fear of breaking something.

That's a good idea.

#PIP4666A: Vehicle Will Not Move In Any Gear - (Jun 26, 2009)

Subject:
Vehicle Will Not Move In Any Gear

Models:
2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Equipped With The Tremec 6-Speed Manual Transmission RPO M10

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This PI was superseded to change conditions and recommendations. Please discard PIP4666.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customer may comment that the vehicle will not move in any gear. Technicians may find the transmission output shaft broken.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If a vehicle comes into the dealer with the concern described above please contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center at 1-877-446-8227 (USA) or 1-800-263-7740 (Canada) and follow the prompts to Camaro Action Center and set a TAC case.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.

WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION

Same problem everyone else is having. Even without blower. They are going to have trouble proving the blower was the cause when there are so many tailshafts broken out there.

Hylton Seems to want to blame me...

What ever but I didn't break the other 89 that have already been posted on this forum.

Like I said If its my fault I will pay but doesn't look that way according to dealer.

By Law warranty must stand unless They can prove it was the mod that caused the problem and with so many out there busted That is going to be difficult to do....

Just MHO

I still stand by my car and dealer and don't have one bad word to say.

So Hylton, Cut me some slack.

Its my car, my issue, and between me and GM what you have against me or my posts I don't know but I know how to drive and I know cars very well...This ain't my first rodeo.....

Maybe you just want a huffer on yours .....

My Camaro just broke a right rear half shaft or u-joint. I hope that's all that's involved. Vin # 49008. Cold tires on old asphalt. Turned on Launch Control and left at 4K and bam. Bad deal was a friend was asking to check mine out because his wife wants one. We were left standing while waiting for the roll back. I've used LC 6 times maybe. My year old 2010 3SS has 3903 miles on it. Only hopeful GM makes it right. Why would the put LC on there and not expect someone to use it. Everything should be strong enough to leave at 6500 or what's the use of having it? Anyone breaking any left sides? Why are only the right sides breaking?

I dont know of too many transmissions that can handle a 4500 rpm clutch dump. I know with competitive mode it says you can,but thats really for a launch and not to do a burnout. easier way on the car is to have it coasting a little bit so theres not as much force appled to the tranny or axle.
426 hp all at one time is alot to handle.....
tremec makes good stuff. glad you are getting it handled.

Sorry to revive an old thread. I have a 2010 with A VIN under 25K that I purchased 2 months ago with only 1,200 miles on it. I now have 2,400 miles on it and haven't done any burnouts or launches at all. A buddy of mine who swears by the Diablo Predator bought me one as a gift and of course I installed it w/out reading here that it would void my warranty!! I'm now nervous about doing a launch in fear that the tranny is going to explode. I guess there never was a verified listing of VINs affected? I read every thread on this topic (including all the arguing) and it appears there was a delay in processing at the plant around the time mine was manufactured so I'm hoping mine was one of the one's held back and checked over.

Also, I bought the car from CarMax and purchased their extended warranty. Not sure if they check ECMs or not when doing repairs. Do I still have a GM warranty on the powertrain even though I'm not the original owner? I would hope even with a tune if I go out and break the tranny (due to this known defect) it would be covered. Now I'm nervous as hell and would like to kill my helpful friend

No, that's what I was saying. My buddy got me the diablo and I installed it without reading here first to find out it would void my warranty. It's help with throttle response especially under 3K RPM but not worth voiding my warranty.

Last 6 digits of your vin is your build number. take the last 6 digits and subtract 100,000 from it. Mine was built on 3/3/2010, Vin # 200595, which made mine 100,595. If yours was built around Jan 2010, then I would say between 80K-90K vin range.
