You DO realize that this is a pre-production car -- right? The paint on pre-production cars isn't production quality-- and in fact, the sheetmetal isn't 'final' production -- the metal dies will be finessed up to the time we build final production cars.....and in fact, the cars are pretty abused -- so no one really cares......... Back to the sheetmetal -- some of you will remember that we did a new front clip for the 98 model year. We scrapped a couple of thousand hoods (V6 and Z hoods were metal) -- because the dies were stamping the hoods -- and if you looked VERRRRRRRRRRRY closely under the right conditions -- it looked like there were two dimples in the hood. We felt that was unacceptable -- and the dies were redone. So -- don't worry about rough paint -- Beta cars always look like this. As Camero pointed out -- headlamps and tail lamps are some of the last items to be finished. Why? Well -- consider that the headlamp gets a lot of air/salt/dirt/gravel/snow/mud/bugs/small animals/etc thrown at them constantly. We can't have them fail/leak/etch/etc -- so we put them thru accelerated testing in special labs.........not on the cars.......... Production headlights aren't done. Question: did you like the concept???? And the rear quarter vents in the 69 weren't functional either -- it's a heritage cue put on a new design. |

She's BEAUTIFUL!!!! Oh man...I almost had a heart attack... I mean...this looks great...simply beautiful. You all know those halo's are going in there...it's as simple as that. I mean, let's read between the lines..."did ya like the concept???" It's going to happen. The paint? I'm sure it'll ble flawless. I wouldn't worry about orange peel at all. And, if you go to pick up your Camaro and it has it, either buy it and repaint it to your specs, buy it and live with it, or don't buy this B@D@SS car and sid sad in the corner while we drive by spinning the tires! I, for one, am far from worried about the paint.....it's just a quick put together for a prepro...that's all it is. It'll be FINE. Loving everything. That front end looks EVIL. I can't wait to see the final grill assembly and light combo. I honestly think it's going to be a concept MATCH. I think it's going to be the SAME as the concept....that's right...the SAME. The rear? Doesn't look so bad after all!!! In fact, I love how the sides actually "flare" up on the rear deck lid. The reverse lights don't look bad at all like some had said. The trailer hitch??? C'mon...it won't be there on the production model. Maybe it could be put on, sure...but that's just one more thing GM would have to test if it could be done. This prepro simply has AWSOME lines! Look at those doors?!?! The indentions are still there...just like day one. Oh, man do these pictures do the prepro JUSTICE! I need some ...please... This is not a complaint...the gas cap is acceptable, IMHO. But, imagine what it could look like back up on top.... !! I sure hope they offer something...anything...a replica...fake, whatever. But, that would look soooooo good.Ok...enough. And...I sign on seeing this....111 posts, just like that.. Dayum! GM and design team...

does gm have a good gray/ gunmetal color? also. stop complaining bout the headlights. chevy will realize after reading all this feedback that those lights are awful and fix that. i agree with tag, front end is evil. the back is ok but way better than a mustang. i hate mustangs cuz i say they have "big butts". the gas cap is fine IMO but i think a viper type gas cap would rock. but its perfectly fine. my only beef is the side vents. but then again im not a car designer and if i was i wouldnt be working for at&t. as long as i get my 400+ HP ill be fine. oh and i also want the front vent to work. i hope the gm gray is good. think racing stripes will come on the car factory???
