Damn.........that sucks man, glad your OK though. It goes to show what a rock solid car they produced. A couple of things to note.

NY also has "No Fault" Insurance. IF they total the car you will get an increase in insurance, it happened to a friend of mine and his car was parked!

Looking at the damage, it appears to be hit dead center. If your frame is still intact, it WILL GET FIXED. There is not engine damage, and ANY body panel can be fixed. It will diminish the value to a buyer(especially with Carfax reports), but not as far as the insurance is concerned. Get it fixed, sell it and order a new one NOW. You will take a loss, but not be looking at the car with distaste due to this. I understand how you feel, I am a car nut also, like most people on here.

One thing I will say, that I learned long ago at lights. If I cannot see the first car stopped on the other side, as I proceed, I take it slow unless I can see a ways down the road and know nobody can T-Bone me. It happens too often. That witness you have will become very important, get him to come down to the police and fill out a report for you to make his statement official. I would also talk to a lawyer about the value, suing for the deductible, etc.

Good Luck Man!

This is just freaking ridiculous.

UGH>....I SO would run over to the other person.

When my 02 Z28 was totalled by that 16 year old girl who took out mommy's car w/out permission when she was grounded....yeah....I wanted to beat her to a bloody pulp. I got out, asked her if she was okay, she said "yes." Then...I yelled at her, "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!?!?!?!" She replied, "I looked to the right, but I never looked to the left. I am so sorry!!!"

Needless to say, that wasn't put in the accident report by my CO WORKERS. But, that didn't matter. It was obvious what had happened and who did what. My tire marks in the pavement also told plenty of stories.

Glad that you are okay.

Dustin, Glad you are ok, Bummer about the car, but I tell (and honestly mean it) for all the people I write up accident reports for, is that things can be replaced, people cannot. Keep the faith that brought you here.

Oh man that sucks. I saw your status on myspace and knew immediately that something bad must of happened to your new camaro. Hopefully every thing goes smoothly for you and you are back on the road in a camaro soon.

Glad you are okay, this does not appear to be any where near a total loss.

I just got sick at my stomach. Bless your heart, I am sorry about your car but thank God your okay. I can't imagine how you feel. I hope you are able to get a new car. My aunt is an insurance agent and when she seen these pictures she said the frame may be a little bent and if so they would total it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Oh ya, I also think the reason alot of these cars are getting hit is because people are looking at them instead of watching the road. The guy that hit you was probably to busy looking at your car to pay attention to anything else.

Sorry to see and hear about your accident. Completely understand about your new car being "soiled" but if it's not totalled a really good body shop can I'm sure make it practically new again.

Great looking car, I hope it works out.

Unhappy

Dustin,

I'm sorry about the accident, but happy that you are OK and didn't get hurt. What a bad deal. I know what you went through and patience that you had. It's too bad that more people don't pay attention to what they are doing when they are driving. I almost had the same thing happen to me the other day. The car in front of me almost got clipped and I would have surely gotten it if I had fallen behind like I usually do. For some reason I caught a Ford Explorer coming into the intersection at a high speed still. He had to slam on his brakes and back out of the intersection when it was all said and done. Keep us informed of what happens to the car. Its too bad when it happens anytime, but your car didn't have hardly any miles on it.

Man Dustin Wow !!!! Well first its good to hear your OK. Secondly I was sitting here with my wife showing her the lap top of your car and I said to her with a just blank look " How in the H*** could he drive in the tow truck looking back at his car just all screwed up? I would have torn the mirror off the damn tow truck. Damn hey I hope you get a completely new car for the anguish alone. I have had a 70 Chevelle SS , 69 Z-28, 93 corvette ruby - All were very sought after cars and never an accident knock on wood. If someone would have hit me in those cars or in our IOM SS2 when it gets here I hope it knocks my a** out. Cause if Im awake and someone hits me oh my brother its on like Donkey Kong!!! Good Luck and hope it goes well!!!!
