Make sure you have a extra set of hands.

install and testing completed, permagrin definitely... however my car did stall out and die once while testing, put it in neutral and started it right back up and kept driving. Is this normal??? I wasn't sure if it was too much back pressure or a possible leak, everything is nice and snug so I don't see how else it could've happened...

Normal until you fix the PCV system. A vacuum leak will prevent the stalling.

Is your car a std or auto ? I had this problem when I had the air on and I coasted to a stop and depressed the clutch. Arno tweaked the tune and all was well.

mine's an auto, i don't recall if the air was on or not though. If/when it happens again I'll make note of it.

What would be the best way of going about that?

Figure out what brand of catch can you want two good choices would be Mighty Mouse that's what I and couple other Ipf sc members have here . Or elite . Theirs a couple of threads on here to give you more info on each . I contacted Mighty Mouse thru email and explained my stalling problem ,gave me advice , haven't stalled since .

I have the Mighty Mouse catch can and their recommended setup including a Cleanside oil separator. I can say I think this is the best setup, and no stalling.

I use dual Elite Engineering cans, the dirty size has a single inlet, dual outlet can. Both outlets have a check valve, the one on the intake manifold prevents boost from entering in the crankcase, the one to the intake pipe forces it to bring fresh air through the crankcase when its required. The clean side has a single outlet can, no check valves. This setup keeps the crankcase in a vacuum in boost and allows me to run more timing it seems like.
Any setup will work, IPF is actually going to revise their catch can setup to fix this issue soon. |
