I myself was thinking of 21"s seems like it would be perfect for the type of setup I want. But I have not seen any pic of a camaro on aftermarket 21"s anybody got some or know a link where I can see some?

22 are big... no doubt and they dont look ghetto, I have a set on my camaro and personal love the look, althought the stock 20 were more run to drive with, may have been less care about bending a stock wheels compared to an aftermarket wheels...

would i change for the 20's nope not in a minute, 22 are here to stay, get what you like and drive how you want!

And question your performance desire.

Performance is relative. I can put 22s on my car, do some headers and a big Maggie and beat a Shelby easily. So I could have beat him by .4 instead of .3, big deal. I can find a way to get that tenth back. I'm not gonna compete, so i think, IF DONE RIGHT, they can look damn good, and DAMN mean.

There will ALLWAYS be somone faster.
Not to turn this into a mustang vs thread and believe me I'm not mustang fan ,but it gets alittle old when someone says well I can just add this or that to beat a shelby or what ever car for that matter. Did you ever think that a shelby can just change a pulley, get a tune and beat you right back ,or if that don't do it add a 2.3surpercharger instead of stock. This is just a money game. Doc made a very valid point ,and he seems to be getting condemned for it. He was just merely stating a fact along with his opinion. For me I have to agreed ,but I'm more into performance than looks. To each is own. By the way PQ I do think your car looks very tasteful with those 22's. I normally don't like such a big wheel ,but yours is the nicest I've seen.

LOL I'm gonna have to disagree with the notion that all of us bought this car for performance i bought it for looks alone, yes it is an SS but the reason I ma putting 22's on the car is for looks I have other cars for performance so ppl ned to stop with the 22's are too big crap if the car came with 18's then it would be 20's are too big there are going to be plenty of these damn cars all over the road and if you don't customize it then you will look like every tom dick and harry!!!

Are 22s Too Big

22's LOOK good, but I do not want to compromise the ride or potential risk of long term front end issues from the added weight and stress. We have a Tahoe with 22's that has developed noises in the front end. We have been told that it possibly related to the oversize wheels. The car looks great with 20s, which are already very large wheels. Also think of what type of spare you could use with 22s that would fit in the strunk spare slot? It's a Camaro not a Escalade.

My car is the orange one on the top right corner, they made a typo and put 21" but they are 22s. I think this car looks funny with aftermarket 20s or smaller. 22" is perfect.

Just putting a set of performance springs on a camaro will have it handling like a vette for 1/2 the price. Whos the smart one now........ he he

Yes, his point was valid. I was basically giving reasons why a 22 inch wheel isn't a killer of performance. And as such, why it didn't play a factor in my decision. If I couln't mod, and get the lost time back, I wouldn't have done the 22s Or the 21s in the first place.

And I agree, I have alwys hated tall rims. I took a chance on this one because I loved those inch rears on the concept and I'm glad I did.

I've owned a base C6 with 550 rwhp, and now own a C6 Z06. Even with the springs and sways on my Camaro, the Corvettes still handle better. The driving experience is completely different between the two, can't even compare it in a fair manner. As for Camaro being half price, not sure where you got that figure since new C6's can be had in the $45K range.

It depends on the wheel if you ask me, i think my setup is far from ghetto! My opinion though...
The ride is definitely bumpy on 22's, then again i have only swapped springs and sway bars and the streets here suck! Hopefully when i get coilovers it will be better!
Also, cost of tires will go up.
Finally, if you are doing any major engine mods (supercharger/cam package/turbo,etc) then i would stick with 20's. I have a hard time hooking up with my setup (500+RWHP).
