If you are driving and you continually pass other cars while you never or seldomly get passed you are traveling faster than the majority of cars. If you are driving and you are hardly ever passed or pass another car then you are probably driving with the majority... Remember this only applies when there are other cars around.

I think we need to agree that exceeding the legally posted speed limit is, by definition, breaking the law.

Whether the law is smart or stupid, we cannot fool ourselves into thinking it's not actually a violation until X number of miles over the posted limit. It is a violation whenever that limit is exceeded. Enforcement is another question entirely.

Ah yes, the definition of what is illegal and legal in our daily lives. Let us put some perspective on all this, keeping it real as I always do. I dedicate this to the hypocrites.

In no particular order...

1. Downloading music and movies for free from "those websites"

2. Traveling at 0.000000001 km or mph over the posted speed limit

3. Did I already say copyright infringements?

4. Getting paid under the table to save taxes

5. Urinating in public

6. Talking on phone while driving

7. Smoking and carrying weed

8. Not using your turn signal(I see this every single day and I'm sure you all do to)

9. I can go on and on...ah yes, stealing someone's pen when they are not looking

10. Chip tuning

To anyone from the Law Abiders Hypocrisy Group, and the Green Party on this forum, cast the first stone, if you are clean as a whistle (pardon the pun).

I can do whatever....you still haven't answered my question which you seem to be great at doing

What is your definition of majority? If there are 1000 cars within a certain distance is 501 a majority? What about 550? What about 600?

And of that "majority" whats faster and whats slower? 1mph over or under, 5mph over or under, 10mph over under? There are so many variables to what you are saying....so much gray area....so it boils down to....

The fundamental rule....if you see a car approaching at a high rate of speed you should yield to them no matter if you think they are an ass for speeding or not. By not yielding (either slowing down or speeding up to get over BEFORE said car gets to you) you are the ass and are making this "situation" dangerous when it does not have to be. Why is it that when you see an ambulance with it's lights on behind you approaching you pull to the right?

Back to the car now. And Angrybird I have no hatred for you lol.....if you ever come through Cookeville LMK!

You do know that driving in traffic is dynamic, it's always changing, so no definitive numbers can be assigned. But anyone can evaluate their speed with those around them.
There are situations where the car approaching from behind can be obscured from view. You keep saying if someone is approaching fast and you see them coming not to pull over in front if them. The opposite is true also, the car that is approaching a group of cars should be assuming they might not be seen and adjust their speed accordingly, especially if the closing rate is fast. Don't assume they see you, assume they don't see you.
