OK I have a very strange story...
I do not have an update on my order BUT I received my car yesterday!!? When I went to order my car I had talked with 4 different dealers. The first one I talked with was in Oct of 08. He was cool (and I had bought cars from him before) but he could not give me cost details so I was apprehensive to put a deposit until I knew how much $$. I said call me once he knew the $$ and I would order. Months went by and no call. So I called them to check up... Chapter 7... gone. So it was winter and I just forgot about the Camaro... until the first dealer demos came in at the end of May. A dealer (#2) had one in town and they allowed me to drive it. After that I knew I had to have one. So I went online and picked out the features I wanted. I drove down to show him my trade we agreed on the terms of the deal and I said I would call him back the next day. I called this dealer the next day and said, "I want to order one... today." (Friday) His response was, "I cannot today but come in on Saturday." So Saturday rolls around and he calls in the morning and says we cannot order your car today we are busy. I was like WTF I am trying to buy a $35,000 car and the guy does not have the time to order it. So.... I go to the other dealer (#3) in town... with my worksheet because at this time I want to get the car ordered because I knew there was a wait and every day I waited was another one I would not have the car. They worked up the deal. We agreed to terms... and they said "BTW we cannot order the car until July due to the bankruptcy." I was like WTF is with that? I knew they could order today, so at this time I am really frustrated. Why is it so hard to order a damn car. So... I made a few calls. I was given the name of a dealer (#4). I called and asked specifically "Do you have an open allocation." His answer was "yes". So I asked "I could order right away" Again "yes". So I am excited and I say "let do this" He comes by looks at my trade we come to an agreement and he puts in an order. I call a few days later and he give me a workbench order #. I am like "great!!" and open allocation it should build fast. A week goes by 1100...then two... I call and long story short... he had an allocation... just not right away. Two very long months go by and on July 24th my order finally gets an allocation and moves to 2000. It then moves forward which ends up with a TPW of 8-17-09. I call him this last Saturday about financing terms and delivery. Things are looking good. Monday rolls around and at 11AM I get a call. "Hello this is dealer #3, the Black SS2 Camaro you ordered is in?" My answer was "Uhhh... it is in? I never ordered a Camaro from you?" They said " You came by June 6th and showed us the specs. We assumed you wanted it so we ordered it for you. If you do not come down today we will sell it to the list of people waiting for one." So... I called dealer #4... and said "Dealer #3... who I never ordered from has my car. I feel strange not getting the car from you but this one is in stock TODAY. Can you check my order to see were it is at?" His response was “I can but I am very busy and will have to call you back." Two hours later... no call... I go to dealer #3. Sure enough my car is there at the same price. They bumped my trade value a little more and found me a 1% better interest rate. (Still no call from dealer #4) So I bought the car. 5 hours later dealer #4 calls... while I am driving my new Camaro. So today I have the tough job of telling Dealer #4 that I will not be buying the car from him. He is a nice guy and someone here should try to jump on the car if they can. So long story short my order is now open for anyone that wants a Black on Black SS2/RS six speed manual @ MSRP. (It is a base SS2 with only the RS package. MSRP should be $35425.00) It is TPW of 8/17 and should be at the dealer in the next few weeks. Order # NKNGTV The dealer is Memering Motoplex in Vincennes, Indiana. Their phone number is (812)-882-5367. (I was dealing with Gary Memering who is the owner. Again a very nice guy.) Someone with an order waiting on a allocation this is the chance to get a car NOW.
