04/28 - 04/30/10 - New Clutch

Ok, picked up the Beast on 4/30 from my local Chevy dealer. Clutch feels very smooth - much easier to push than when I originally picked up the car. Engages fine. Now, I will break it in a bit before doing any aggressive take offs.

Here's the parts list (Oh, they didn't even charge me for the Royal Purple tranny fluid! )

Qty Part Number Description
4 - 11569956 Bolt 0.669 0Y CP BK
2 - 11569956 Bolt 0.669 0Y CP BK
1 - 12557583 Bearing 0.649 0Y CP
6 - 12561465 Bolt 0.862 0Y CP BK
1 - 24255748 Plate 0.859 0Y C
1 - 12571611 Flywhee 0.666 0Y C
1 - DLRUP DLRUP
1 - 89021297 Adhesiv 8.800 0 CPO
2 - RP001320 RylPrpl

Recommend New Right Rear Intermediate Exhaust pipe or relocate it - It is too close to Drive Shaft - not safe ;( See attached picture from the service manager.

We'll see...

2nd Trailing arm installed today by Renegade Performance! They checked the exhaust also where it melted some of the rubber on the driveshaft. It must have happened when the exhaust slipped back, giving me nothing past the CATs

No issue any longer! Met 2 other Camaro5 folks there having work done with their cars! Very cool! They did a great job!

One more trip to Stillen next week for Pfadt Camber plates, fix up my alignment, then I'm good to go!

Looks fantastic Michael. Those SMD's REALLY set the car off. Sucks to hear about the dealer mucking up your paint job. Your car is almost complete then?

Congrats!

Michael, I saw your car at Stillen and am very impressed with all the upgrades, and that you do as much as you can yourself. Trying to do the same, but a much slower pace.
Really like the side markers. I have to get those now.

Thanks! There really is a lot you can do on your own I could have done more than I did also, but sometimes rather let someone else handle it

I need to slow down also and enjoy the ride...after these final suspension mods next week at Stillen. Alignment is not right, yet.

Side markers are great! If you can afford it, tinting and painting to accent or match your car is the way to go, IMO. Although, with black, it blends in nicely

If I can't do it, I have good friends to help with lots of experiance. Just did the Eibach pro series kit with sways and hurst shifter, but still need to get it aligned. Sounds like I need someone good for that. Two places I talked to seemed to think they would have a problem doing it.
My car is black and attempted to "vinyl" out part of the light to look thinner, but took it right off. Did not look right. This option appears to blend in well, especially on the black car. I will have to check out the price, but sure its worth the expense.

05/12/10 - Pfadt Camber Kit

ok, after my last trip to Stillen for the KW V3 Coilovers, and then needing the front spacers, my alignment was still off.

So, today, they installed Pfadt's Camber kit which brought the front alignment into specs. Now, all good

Ready for the track on Monday! I'll post actual pictures later, but here's the part:

Oh, I'll post my Cop story in another post...
