You can get into a new Silverado Custom Double Cab that features 20's and chrome & body color accents for less than $30k with current incentives. Or the new Colorado is a great choice too, a real Chevy truck with great capability you can get nicely equipped for around $30k.

Yeah. I don't buy new. I let someone else take the depreciation hit as I don't keep vehicles long enough to make it worth it.

What the hell is wrong with the world when you can get a new Corvette cheaper than you can get a new truck.

Edit: Took a look at the special editions and got a private offer....hahaha

my 12 6.2l Silverado ext cab 4wd got 15-20mpg you do have to run 91 or 93 in it.

Both of the old Duramax's (LLY and LBZ) I owned would get 21+ down the highway at 75-80 after a tune and a solid 17+ in town not driving the easiest.

15-20 from a 6.2 in a 4WD is very respectable though. 91 or 93 is fine with me and still cheaper than diesel per gallon in most cases.

$30k for a 7 year old truck? Not happening for me.

Test drove a '15 Silverado as I was considering the same thing. Decided I can't part with my 1LE. So my old '93 Chevy with a 5.3L LS swap will keep making do...

I know what you mean. I can find a no frills 2WD used for next to nothing if I wanted that, but in my habit of car keeping I'd have an extremely hard time getting rid of it or getting no love from a dealer for trade in.

I like the diesels, 4WD, and the Crew Cab; and therefore it's going to take some work to find one.

Look up prices on used 2006-2007 LBZ Duramax's around the country under 150k miles. You'll see what I mean. I've read there's a bit of a truck bubble going on currently. Makes me just want to deal with it and let it go until the prices come back to earth like the housing market.

Yeah can't find a price that's going to make me part with my Camaro...I do need a truck, but I can get by without one for a little while. I will have to find something up this alley though.

That's exactly what I did. I got my Camaro last week but couldn't let go of the truck. I've been driving trucks since I was 18, I'm 42 now.

I drove SUVs or pickups for 20 years. I am totally done with those things now. Tired of the bulk and lack of handling. In Houston they made some sense as the roads are basically just a grid of bumpy concrete. My wife drives the SUV for the family but I hate driving it.

Also comes in handy when you bail off of I-10/I-59/I-45/290 or 288 due to accidents. LOL!!!

Traded my Camaro for a '15 Silverado over Memorial Day weekend.

The Camaro was a good car, but until you've driven something fullsize, you don't realize how small the inside of the Camaro really is. I always struggled with head room, and getting in/out of it sometimes was pretty tough in tight spaces.

I'm back to owing on a vehicle again, but this new truck is worth it. I still do a lot of driving and this truck gets down the road very comfortably.
