Man I've been so busy I haven't gotten around to doing this yet..

As stated by scrming in the first part of this thread...

pigtail wire is GM part# 12102620 and what you get from O'Reilly is a BWD brand part# PT778 for $16.99 each.

push in type IAT sensor is GM part# 12160244 and what you get from O'Reilly is a BWD brand part# WT3036 for $13.49 each. This sensor fits the 98-02 LS1 Camaro as well as many other vehicles.

So this is a really inexpensive mod and if it helps make your engine perform better and be more consistent, it is worth it to me.
Ok so I'm slightly confused here you list the GM part #'s and then BWD part numbers. When I first read this I was thinking that you were saying you need four parts, but I'm thinking I misunderstood this. The GM parts are one set and teh BWD are another set, both the same thing it just depends where you buy it, correct?

Yes you are correct. I gave both part numbers for each part so they can be cross-referenced. You need one pigtail wire and one IAT sensor and you are good to go. I also used a rubber grommet to put the sensor through in the air box. I have pics posted somewhere on the forum and I'll try to locate them. If not, when I get a spare minute I'll take a few more photos and post them.

I want to do this mod! i live here in california and were getting nothing but heat. im talking like 105 degree weather recently. plus im in nothing but dead traffic on my commute from work.

to work takes 20 min and from work takes a hour and 20 min HA! plus i drive stick. i still dont regret getting a manual tran tho

anyways i think the relocation is a great idea. im not much for electrical but this deff seems like somethin i can tackle one of these weekends.

BTW mad props scrming! Seems like your everwher on this forum! props to the amount of time you spend on your reviews on mods and info!

Scrming, how did you figure out what wires to cut. I have a V6 G8 and the wires might be different on my harness.

I did some googling... found that certain colors always tend to be for the MAF... that left 2 wires... also found some reference I think to the tan wire usually being for the IAT... IIRC...

I did this mod I made my own pigtail so I wouldn't have to cut any wires and it works

This may be a stupid question but how do you connect the wires from the MAF/IAT to the pigtail?

I think the ADM intake solves this issue for the SS model Camaros with the MAF in the actual box itself.
