SCHOOL!!!!!! You have to get that degree Dude. The longer you put it off , the tougher it is to return. You start making up every excuse as to why you can't start back.

Its just a piece of paper and No it doesn't really make you smarter than the next guy but it sure the F@#k opens up a lot more doors for you.

I have 2 degrees and I am so glad I did it. I lucked out with a great job but the big thing is the self satisfaction of knowing you did it.

Plus there are tons of Hot Ass Babes and plenty of Brew.

When your 21 of Course

Or you can practice ACT tests and then score high enough to get a free ride somewhere. And get the Camaro.

You are totally correct on this, we are a minority! I just see the hands on working class slowly shrinking. I wish they would push trade schools harder than they do! Not everyone is college material and we need construction workers, plumbers, ect......

The Chinese must love you. We did not become a great nation by aspiring to mediocrity. What we need is better primary education, its currently a joke in this country. Yes we do need plumbers and teachers and others but we have failed to capitalize on our innovations for the last 50 years or so and our position in the world has suffered, part of the problem is the general attitude toward education in this country and if we do not want to live through the sunset of the American Empire that has to change. Ok Sorry Stopping political rant now as per forum rules.

Sorry
I'll be good...

Maybe! My plumbing contractor friend did 38 million in work last year, and has 150 employees and no degree!!! If school is your path then for sure go that way. Dont buy a car instead, but if school is really not your thing you can still be a successful person without a degree. Good work ethic and willing to work hard will also get you some where.

some people are lucky and can afford to do both, if you have to decide though, go with school. 4 years later you can get your dream job and dream car. purchasing a car now is not worth the effects it could do to your future. girls wont like you any more if you have a camaro but are still living at home with no education at age 25.

I'm 27 w/ an associates degree & just went back w/ online classes to get my Bachelors while working full time. I don't think you can ever be too old to go to college.

For every one plumber you can name doing well there are atleast 10 that aren't. Pointless arguement here.

Education + Hardwork + Dedication = Success

Lose any one of those three and the odds of success become exponentially more difficult

My second son just scored a 35 out of a possible 36 on the ACT. He is guaranteed a minimal free ride (including books, meals) at any mid level Arkansas university but probably will get a free ride at about any major university.

My oldest son scored a 33 on the ACT and is now attending a $40,000 / yr private university in San Antonio with everything paid for except about $4,000 / year.

So what is your time worth?

And by the way what was the hourly rate that you were charged by a plumber, electrician or A/C repair man?

You can make a good living if you are honest and do good work with a trade.

Go to school! A car will go down in value but your education will increase your value for the rest of your life.
