Clocked time with NLS.
My question is, when performing test that GM uses to advertise performance times is the NLS feature used? For example I was trying my best 0-60 and without using NLS I was rarely able to go below a 5.0 sec. but when I used the NLS feature I was able to get a 0-60 of 3.9sec on my stock 2016 2SS.

When you disable vehicle dynamic control or all driving aids with the center console button. Dose this also disable NLS?

But I will say, if you ever so slightly lift off the gas it will disable and you'll miss a gear. |

Is anyone using no lift shift on the track? I'm wondering if after entering the straight I should use regular 2->3->4 shifts, or stick to nls?
Will nls harm the transmission or the clutch long term, with 20-30 track days a year? Or it doesn't worth it time vise? After learning how to do nls properly I started to use it on the long straights, but use regular shifting elsewhere on the track.

I say keep doing it when appropriate. |

Hey folks,
It's me again. I was using no lift shift almost exclusively on the track yesterday, trying different RPMs. I've learned that switching to the next gear with NLS when you see yellow lights on the windshield projection instead of red lights leads to a way smoother shift. There is no "BRRR" sound like when you do it closer to 6000-6200rpm and see red lights. Was I doing it wrong all the time? Green lights, yellow lights, red lights and then NLS before red lights start to flash. You have slight kick and hear loud BRRR from the exhaust when shifting. If you shift at yellow lights, there is no exhaust BRRR sound and it feels way smoother. But is it the fastest way to accelerate on the straight on track?

I've tried a couple times on the 3-4 and it shifted really harsh. I'm not sure if it's something I did or if NLS has any known problems that could be diagnosed.
It's not something I want to reproduce for a mechanic on a public road. |

Do you see yellow lights or red lights on the windshield projection when you do NLS? I assume 6200 should be red.

It does not matter at all what color the lights on the HUD are, you just use NLS when you want as long as your a good bit above 5k rpm to do a fast WOT shift, that's it. The weird BRR sound is not bad its just part of the NLS tuning to lower rpm.

I've tried using NLS recently on my '20 SS 1LE, and it seems it either doesn't work, or it goes to 6400 rpm instead of 5000. It feels like I'm doing a regular power shift with no rpm drop until I dump the clutch. Any ideas as to why it is like this?
