Thank you. My little escape from the day to day in the backyard.
My goal...to cut my own heads.

They all are, ALL of them.
There is a post in here where Z28 owners argued me up and down and when a guy who tracks and autocrosses his Z28 with low miles pulled his heads the valves were out of spec or at least most were. If you want to gamble on a engine you can only buy used for 10-15K now, up to you.

Just go the C6 Z06 pages on FB and Corvette forum.
The info is out there, easy to find but people are to lazy to do their own research.

Recently a buddy of mine had his 26K mile '06 Z06 fall victim to a dropped valve and catastrophic failure. He was nice enough to give me the undamaged cylinder head from the opposite bank. Eventually I'll do a bit of detective work to find the differences between the early and late versions but there is an obvious difference when you look at the 8452 casting number that is visible on the passenger side. The first pic is the C6 Z cylinder head, the second is the head from my '15 Z/28. I've looked at a few early C6 Zs and they all have casting numbers with a more defined stamping like the first pic. I have yet to look at any Z/28s as they're a bit more difficult to find. Maybe some fellow members can post some pictures as this could become a quick reference as to production time frame.

I think the point has already been made above: do you WANT to take the risk?
A couple of new heads can be found for a few grand under sale... It's not small money, I get it, but it's a way to NEVER have the problem.
