Negatives for Camaro are:
About 100lbs or more heavier.
Tires are almost 3 inches taller.
20" wheels are heavy.

Positives are:
Gearing in 6 speed auto is significantly lower than GTOs A4.
Much more tire out back,
LS3 is a monster.

The thing i noticed about the Camaro when I drove it back in april was that even though it had quicker steering and less body roll than the GTO, it felt a lot like the GTO. I was expecting/hoping for a more up to date and modern feel in the Camaro.

I see the GTO cry babies made it over to add their 2 cents. Every thing that was wrong with the GTO was fixed in the Camaro, including the looks. I'm sorry but after hanging with some GTO people I really dislike the car.

I wouldn't say it was the worst lol I'm sure they made something worse than the gto..I would agree with you if they never put the ls2 in there..

You are way off here. The GTO had the LS1 in the 04's and the LS2 in the 05 and 06's. Both are very good powerplants. The interior was damn nice. It was a very fine car. I had an 04 and then an 06. Now, the biggest problem with them is they look so bland and boring. GM did not do any justice to the heritage of the GTO with these looks. This car got hammered on that point.
Overall a very nice car, but just too damn boring looking. Your're right about the Camaro fixing that. This car is HOTNESS!!!!!!!!

Ok point taken, the worst performance car. The Aztec was a worse car.

The GTO's I have been around sound great, but just don't move out. They put the power down on the dyno but that doesn't translate to ET. With bolt-ons my intake and tune SS runs away from them and with heads and cam they have a hard time breaking 12's. I'm sure people will argue with me but I am speaking from own experience. I raced a buddy with a full bolt-on LS2 M6 and beat him every time. From a stop or roll, it didn't matter. He ran a 13.3 at the track and I ran a 12.7, hell my nephews intake and exhaust 99 Z28 ran a 13.2. Maybe he's a bad driver but my car was able to run him from a roll and there isn't much driving skill needed for that.

I do have a friend with an 06 GTO, and he has sunk some money in it. Full bolt ons with a wet kit. Suspension and tune, it has everything. Nice car, just exteriorly bland.

While I agree with you, bad looks and not being able to get the power to the ground does not translate into one of the worst cars ever made my GM at least in my opinion. I know several guys that did some rear suspension mods and they are getting the power to the ground. Either way, the Camaro has it beat hands down in every area.

^ Other than the Unique ability to only see another GTO a couple times a year!! Everytime i drive to work i see another CAMARO!! (live in a Town with 20,xxx ppl)
I dont get where Black5thGEN and Bash the GTO so terribly when the stock M6 LS2 Compared to the STOCK M6 LS3 is a DAMN Close Comparison in 1/4 mile times. Like stated earlier its a DRIVERS RACE!!!! As for owning a LEAD SLEAD a L99 CAMARO weighs more than a 1966 396BBC Impala SS!! and IMO the Impala LOOKS better and has a better Mod Capability along with WOW Factor.

Point Being if you wanna Bench RACE!! Compare the STOCK Wheel HP to weight of each vechile on a 1/4 mile Calculator.

GTO M6 - 3725 my STOCK 06 without tuning dyno 355 RWHP 351 RWTQ

2010 RS/SS M6- 3860 so far Stock ive seen 364 RWHP

GTO has a 3.46 Stock Rear Gear Ratio
Camaro SS M6 has 3.45

Actually no. I'm on more non-GTO sites then GTO. I just look at this as one more LSx site. From what I've seen of this site so far it actually reminds me a lot of the Charger Forums site when it first started.

Hell my stock 94 GEO Prism will beat a c6ZR1 with Pennsoil and Napa Gold Air Filter, Case of RC Cola in the Trunk, Stock plugs with 120K miles, Ford Escort Hub Caps, <--- Oh SNAP those Hub Caps arent OE equipment!! Guess thats why ive been smokin those ZR1's.

The GTO, HANDS DOWN, has an interior light years ahead of the Camaro. Other than that, they are very comparable in power/weight/performance. Im not even sure which of the two I would pick on exterior alone.
