for me it was cost. would not consider the Camaro for MPG.

if I cound not have afforded the SS, I still would have gotten the LT...and been very happy with it.
The LT is still alot of fun to drive, paired with the manual.

I wanted the 2SS, but ended going with the 1SS...wanted the V8 M6, and added the 4 guage cluster after the fact.

I am also liking the Synergy Green...if I had purchased the V6, that is what I would have gone for.

Nobody?

Quite the blanket statement.

I see lots of (stupid) questions pop up here. Maybe people are scared of being ridiculed over a question they could easially find the answer themselves with a bit of research. Rightly so.

no regrets getting a V6 w/ 304hp, since I was comparing a V6 mustang for purchase(when gas was $4 gallon). But the real debate would be NOT getting the RS package and regretting it..

As far as the SS goes, it's quite a car that I could see myself getting alot of speeding tickets(or for exhibition driving)...do I really need that?

Well everyone's input was very helpful, thank you. At least for the moment, I've left my order for the SS as is. Thanks again.

I posted a similiar post elsewhere, but I'll try again here. I was really interested in the Camaro and last year I went to FL for some business (and alittle pleasure) with the wife. We rented a V6 Camaro and had it for one (1) week. I put 600 miles on it and was VERY impressed with the handling and power. It was a big WOW factor for me.

I started checking around in FL and then back in CA to purchase a V6 Camaro. Never even thought about the V8. My philosphy, why pay $7000 more for a car that is only one (1) sec quicker from 0 - 60 and gets worse gas mileage. I had really been impressed with the V6 power for that week and impressed with my 22mpg (mostly in the city) as I drove it.

Back in CA, I kept checking at the Chev dealer and almost bought an SS, they were ready to wash it and all I had to do was sign, and I would have paid it off right then...but didn't like the way the manual transmission felt (after driving manuals my whole life) and I wanted an automatic and even thou I was impressed with the V8 power, it didn't WOW me as much as my initial impression with the V6. You expect ALL that power with the V8, but in the V6 (especially since every other version of the V6 Camaro was a dog in previous generations) was much more than I expected.

I sometimes wish I would have test drove a V8 with automatic, but never did. So ended up getting the V6 and still love every minute driving it. Do I baby it, NO, from reading on here I'm getting about 100+ miles per tank more than the V8 guys. Is it my commuter car, NO. It is my FUN car and very fun it is. Hec, every time I drive this V6 Camaro with all the power it has (and YES, it has plenty of power) I wonder WHY would anybody else want MORE power? Do I drag race it, NO, do I race it, NO (I'm a 50 year old "mature" adult (hahaha)....), do I have fun in it, YES!

Is the SS King? Sure it is, but the LT is no slouch...and if that V8 pilot isn't paying attention that V6 will be right with him (for abit anyways).

I paid off my V6 also, so money wasn't an issue, but I did want to get a combination of looks and performance for a certain price and the V6 Camaro fit in there just perfectly. All in all, no matter what anybody tells you or says on this forum, you WIN no matter what flavor of Camaro you get...they are fantastic cars with great technology and perfomance.

Perhaps not everybody is a bookworm and knows how to use the Search feature. I'll be honest, I've tried searching for things in particular and couldn't find what I was looking for. "Search" doesn't always yield the right answers.

That's right, thanks for correcting me.

The point I was trying to make was that regardless of what somebody says when they say "No offense, but...," chances are, you are GOING to take offense to it.

Plus the real life up to the minute dialogue is more helpful, too. Feels like you would be talking to a family or friend -- if they really cared about Camaros as much as you. And in real life time folks have had more behind the wheel experience which is more helpful, too. Believe me, I've used the search feature, as well, and poured over posts for days. This was the first thread I started, and the input was helpful.

Actually, this is true, but you know what else happens when you start digging up old information is that you start new debates and invite new trolls. I've seen many debates on here about really old topics resurrected because of this and it never ends well. Usually in warnings, bans and closed threads.
