got this exhaust put on the other way. it sounds nice, but it's not really loud at all. i was really hoping it'd be a little louder than it is, but for now all i can hope is that the magnaflow will 'break in' and get louder. the car feels a little bit more powerful in the upper rpm's. the only thing i'm slightly dissappointed in is the sound, as from the vids it sounds loud, when on my car it's not. thanks caverman for your help. btw i painted my exhaust tubing black, blends in well

I think it's louder on the outside than on the inside. When I took video of my brother going through the gears I was alot more suprised at how it sounded from the outside. Wait a couple weeks and then get someone else to drive the car by you or ride in a car behind it. I think you'll be suprised that under WOT it's not that quiet outside.....nothing over the top though.
It might get a little louder over time but I wouldn't think by much. If you want it louder you might have the options to do a couple things. One is that they say the non-resonated Tru-X pipe is louder because it's not resonated. Another options is headers....but I heard it really makes it loud then. Third option is to either remove the rear cat (that's what I did and it was a little louder), go with an off-road mid-pipe (requires a tune), or maybe wait and see if something like the High-flow cat system that SOLO is trying to develop would help. Post back after a while and let everyone know what you think about it.

i'm probably going to do shorty headers to the hiflo catted mid pipe(if it ever happens), but thanks man. the car does seem to pick up a little more in the high rpms, you said your car only had 35 miles on it when you changed over, mine had 11k and i felt a difference in upper rpms, so it was worth something. only have the 86 bucks shipped for the x-pipe and 150 for the muffler/resonator/h-pipe delete and install of resonated x-pipe, so for 236 bucks, a little rumble and a little more pick up in the upper rpms, i'd say it was well worth it.

I wish that Magnaflow made the 16580 kit with the tru-x pipe. That would be PERFECT!!

I did this back in February as well. I removed the H Pipe and installed #11386 and I have the Magnoflow #16582 Axel Back. I love the sound plus I am getting a mpg more.

FWIW I just replaced stock resonators with the Edelbrock non-resonated X pipe connected to Solo Performance Quantum axleback. Louder than the axelbacks by themselves, loud and somewhat annoying hum @ 2200-2400 rpm. Don't know if you'd call it drone or just a loud exhaust hum. Cheaper than a complete cat back by about $300.

Its flat out perfect and with header should be just a bit louder

So I finally pulled the trigger on a set of LT headers, 3" exhaust, and tune....done by ADM Performance. While it's there they did the pre-install dyno and I thought those of you intrested in doing the muffler delete, rear cat delete, and x-pipe would be intrestested in the dyno result.
Here is the stats on the car at this dyno. About 3,500 miles Magnaflow resonated x-pipe Muffler delete Rear cat delete Halltech Yellow Jacket CAI 375 rwhp / 375 rwtq Here is the video......an YES I now the headlight is out. The ballast must have gone out and I'll have it replaced.
