Not sure yet what they're using. I hope to get a parts list tomorrow when I pick her up.

All is on schedule to pick my baby up tomorrow. I can't believe they need 3 days for this! :( Anyway, I get a call from my service guy - first about the alarm. They disconnected the battery and couldn't figure out how to shut the alarm off! My Viper has a battery backed siren too!

Second call was to ask what kind of fluid was in the transmission since it was obviously not GMs! So, they will be topping it off with Royal Purple, at my cost.

We'll see tomorrow!

Mine was built April 7 and I'm not the greatest stick shift driver and clutch issues are top on my list of things that I'm worried about messing up on this car. Actually, it's about the only thing I'm worried about messing up.
Oh you can bet they they are going the new ones, don't worry about messing something up. These camaros are well built machines and if there is a defective part, it will show itself long before the warranty expires. There was an output shaft problem early on that scared us all to death. Not all cars had the problem, so now like the clutch, it appears not everybody has a problem. But its a relief to know there is a fix if you do.

My prediction.... another smoked clutch.

Heavy car, 20" wheels, tall gearing, sticky tracks, high rpm launches, staging lane burnouts..... killers on OE clutches.

After owning Vettes for many years, here is the trick to making your clutch last a long time. Drive around the water/burnout box, no burnount, low rpm launch, throttle lift between shifts.... ET will be off a hair, but you can race all night long without smoking your clutch.

Burnouts, high rpm launches, speed shifts... I don't care if they've put the latest and greatest clutch part number in there, it will be toast.

Well, just called the dealer and my baby is ready! She mentioned that it was dusty from sitting there 3 days and it my my choice if they wanted to clean her. NO Thank you! No idea how she turned out, but I'll update after I pick her up in a few hours. I will take some time putting some miles on her before I do any aggressive launches I will also ask for the full parts list...

Ok, picked up the Beast this evening. Clutch feels very smooth - much easier to push than when I originally picked up the car. Engages fine. Now, I will break it in a bit before doing any aggressive take offs.

here's the parts list (Oh, they didn't even charge me for the Royal Purple tranny fluid! )

Qty Part Number Description
4 - 11569956 Bolt 0.669 0Y CP BK
2 - 11569956 Bolt 0.669 0Y CP BK
1 - 12557583 Bearing 0.649 0Y CP
6 - 12561465 Bolt 0.862 0Y CP BK
1 - 24255748 Plate 0.859 0Y C
1 - 12571611 Flywhee 0.666 0Y C
1 - DLRUP DLRUP
1 - 89021297 Adhesiv 8.800 0 CPO
2 - RP001320 RylPrpl

Recommend New Right Rear Intermediate Exhaust pipe or relocate it - It is too close to Drive Shaft - not safe ;(

We'll see...

Go ahead and drive anyway. The other drivers will just think you're pissed off.

That sucks! Hope you feel better.

Well I would definitely still drive if I didn't have temporary nerve damage in three fingers and 1 of them fractured and in a splint! It's hard to hold a steering wheel with a thumb a pinky only! Lol! My index middle and ring finger were all jammed in a car door for a whole 20 seconds! I'm happy I didn't lose these fingers! Trust me I'm dying to go driving! And put my line lock in! When I did drive it tho it's still good and clutch is still firm! Shifts great also!

Sounds like THAT hurt. 20 seconds! I would have been screaming like a little girl.

I bet this is the ONLY time you wished you bought an automatic.

Years ago, I had my right hand in a cast and didn't want to give up driving the RX-7. So I had them mold the cast to fit the shift knob.
