Hey everyone.
Had some funny things happen today. A guy in a Dodge pickup was playing like he wanted to race me. I played a little, but nothing too crazy. He was laughing when I pulled ahead of him at one point.

Then, a guy pulled up next to me and asked how I liked the car. I said "Oh, I love it!" Then he said, "Yeah, me too!"
He was driving a Mercedes.

The number of people that stare at this car is just amazing! It's so crazy!

I love my car so much. Hope you guys are at least driving non-stop and that's why the posting here has slacked off.

My vinyl came in, so I should be trying to black out my bowties tomorrow. Wish me luck. :P

Also, I'm just curious...how old is everyone in our group? I'm 23.

Hey Phil, still here, driving the a$$ out of mine, 2200 miles in less than three weeks As for age, I'm 37, but since getting this car I feel 23 again. I had felt like 57 as I have 4 kids all under the age of 7, given that, I think my wife feels like she is 237 years old despite being 34....

As for people staring, I caught a young kid taking a picture of my car doing 80 on the Interstate, I noticed I was neither passing or being passed by a car on my left, looked real quick and caught him with his camera phone, we both just laughed.

Had a dude in a 2010 Mustang pull up next to me on the Interstate and give the thumbs up and I returned the favor as he was in a nice GT.

When I was taking my father-in-law for a drive in the car for the first time we pulled into a local County Park so I could let him take over and drive, an older woman had followed us into the park and pulled up alongside of us to comment on how beautiful the car was. We went back to the house and he told my mother-in-law he got hit on because he was driving the Camaro.

Was driving behind a car on the Interstate with what looked like some grandparents in the front and an early 20's girl in the back, for about 3 miles she had her face plastered to the rear window and when they finally pulled over and I was able to pass the plastered herself against the side window staring as I passed by. I like to think it was me she was staring at but my guess is it is the car, I never go the same attention in my 11 year old Dodge Intrepid.. go figure...

The best reaction I got was from a neighbor around the corner, he just bought a 4 door Jeep Wrangler a few months ago as a "practical" vehicle, he has two young kids but also already has a GMC Acadia. He saw me and said "how the hell did you get away with buying that and having 4 kids", I told him "easy, I figured out that even though my wife makes me put my nuts in the freezer before I leave the house I was able to purchase a spare set on Ebay, I guess you didn't know you could do that" .... He didn't like that answer....

LOL at the stories Robert. I also can't believe what kind of attention this car brings!

I'm 45, but age is only a number. My daughter posted a pic of me in the Camaro the day I picked it up and her caption was "Look at my pretty mama, she looks 24 in her new car."

I'm 21 and I also agree that the attention this car gets is amazing...I love all the blank stares I get haha...I installed the chrome gas tank cover last week and my metal black bowties should be coming in today..just in time for my trip to vegas next week

Blacked out all of my bowties.

Manged to knick my paint by the back bowtie with the razor...stupid me. It's not that noticeable though.

Got mine back from the paint shop for striping. Getting a couple of things fixed so it goes back in tomorrow. After that I will find a sunny day for some to take some good pics ... and finally post.

Oh .... and 25!!

OK OK ... I mean 52!!

But, this car is the ultimate equalizer!! We are all 25 again!!!

And ... I am in disbelief at the number of looks, comments, pictures taken that happen each day. It's incredable and I am not used to this much attention ... ... This is crazy!

miztah - Yeah, I went the vinyl route and got a piece of sheet vinyl off of eBay for $6 (total). From there you just cut a rectangle of it, slap it on the bowtie, smooth it out, and follow the groove on the inside of the chrome with a razor. Pretty easy, but you have to be more careful with the razor than I was (and I was pretty freaking careful!).
