Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm glad to be here and driving one of these great cars. My wife and I took the Camaro out today for about 3 or 4 hours, just cruising around town. I'm still trying to get the "feel" for driving the car. The manual transmission seems to be shifting smoother as it gets more miles on it, and I'm getting smoother too. It's a blast to drive, that's for sure. I'm getting there. We've been looking for good picture spots too so we took the camera and tried a couple of spots in Old Town recommended by you guys, one in front of the old Spaghetti Warehouse and the other by the old train station. They were taken at mid day so the light wasn't great, (and I'm not a great photographer) but it's good for getting an idea of what's possible. I think there are some really good spots around there. Everyone says these threads are worthless without pictures, so here are a couple more from today. Anyway, I had a good weekend. Back to work tomorrow. (blah)

New owner here, live in Tonganoxie (West of KC). Just picked up my car this past weekend in Dallas. None of the dealers around here could match the deal I got so the wife and I drove 16+ hours to Dallas and back. Makes me appreciate Kansas driving, traffic in Dallas was an absolute nightmare!! Lookin' forward to warm weather and going to some meets...

Welcome, bought mine from Gainsville,TX dealer 12/28/09. Just drove it back up from OKC where it was garaged for the winter.

Hey Ject,

Thought you might like to see this one. It's in front of the old spaghetti warehouse in Old Town again, but this time at sunset, 3-22-11, looking west down William St. (I think it's William St anyway, just north of the new arena) The street dead ends at the railroad tracks to the east so there isn't any traffic to contend with. The sun sets almost directly in line with the streets for a few days each year around the first days of spring and autumn. I have seen some photos of down town New York City streets done this way with the skyscrapers and it looks really cool. Regardless of the sun position, the backdrop and being able to park in the middle of the street makes for a good photo I think. I wonder how early morning light would look here?

rb, nice shot! (and nice car of course!) I may have to try and do a shoot down there. I like the early morning sun idea, it would at least be worth a try.
